There are tactful, courteous ways to handle things. I'm also not saying that my thinking or the way I was taught is the way that everyone should think. I could be wrong for even saying anything. I've been very emotional this past week because I had to put my father in the hospital last Sunday and he is dying and I've been going through hell. So a lot of things that normally wouldn't phase me are touching nerves. I'm not trying to start anything, just stating how I feel and what I've been taught.

Just an observation here folks, but sweetieboop stated that her father is dying, yet NO ONE has even acknowledged what she is going through, and continue to either flame her or make jokes!

For a thread that has argued for 4 pages about the topic, one would think to be courteous enough to sweetieboop and say; "wow, i'm sorry to hear about your father, i hope you are ok...etc etc"

Let's cut the woman some slack, shall we?

sweetieboop; i am very sorry to hear about your father. i hope that you are doing well, if you need any support, feel free to email me. God bless.

Quite right rain, and since Betty is a friend I'll update you on her situation.

For most of the past week, I've talked with sweetieboop about her entire situation. Her Father has congestive heart failure (CHF), and has already had a triple bypass nine years ago. Two of the previous bypasses are now constricted/closing up,and he required two stints. He is out of the hospital, and sweetieboop and her Mother have placed him in a nursing home, as he will be 76 in three months. She told me her parents had just celebrated their 51st anniversary. In addition, she's had to transport her Father's 83 year old sister to visit him, as her Aunt is not local to her.

During portions of this thread, sweetieboop did start to question her own behavior, and was very concerned over her comments being twisted by a malcontent to further his own lost cause, and seemingly attacks from others with their own agendas. During this time, she had gone several days without much, if any, sleep and was also dealing with several other situations, to include a breakdown in communications with her Master that had driven a split between them.

I'm posting this update because as of our last discussion (29th) sweetieboop and her Master have been able to seriously talk face to face and come to agreements concerning their previous splitting issues. She is relocating locally to go 24/7 and told me she may not be as visible on this board as before, due to this change. I encouraged her and her Master both to stay active here in the message board, and to know they have friends here.

To all of you that have written me about my father, although I didn't post that looking for sympathy, I really appreciate your kinds words and generous thoughts. My dad ended up falling out of bed and cutting his eye open because they still haven't gotten him a proper bed. I have gone back to my Master so I haven't been home to take care of things there. I actually went into work with Master the other day to help him out and when the owner saw me there, he wanted to know who I was and what I was doing. When he found out that I accomplished in half a day what their whole IT department couldn't do in 2 weeks, he insisted I be hired as a manager. So I've been EXTREMELY busy this past week. I won't be having much time to be on the computer (at least for the next few months). So if you want to get in touch with me, you'll have to email me privately. Again, I thank you all for your kindness. Wishing everyone peace and love.

rain,

Read the part about beating a dead horse. Some people call that humor.

knees again, if you are chatting with someone and they
don't respond as a Domm or Domme, till after a few minutes, does that mean, that they aren't interestedeven if You keep trying, being polite.
for a Domm or a Domme even waiting for a sub, can be hard. for me i have tried to break the ice, sometimes it is not easy~ e-mail or chatting

sincerely, knees 2You

Dear Knees-

I almost never respond 'as a dom' in either online or real world interactions, even when i am well aware that the other person is a submissive. I ususally respond as person, speaking to another person.

If I am going to interact with someone as a dominant- even in a casual exchange, it will be becuase the other person involved has expressed a desire for me to do so. At times it may be a subtle expression, but i always try to wait for a cue of some sort.

If I 'respond as a Dom', and it is not welcome, instead of being a dom, I am a jerk.

I'd suggest something clear and overt- probably best to ask how you might best petition her outright, rather than waiting for them to jump on it.

stay warm,
Lawrence
