In regards to LordandMasters word

Consuetudinary:

(Med.Lat.Consuetudinarius from Consuetudo, Custom) Customary, a term used especially of law based on custom as opposed to statutory or written law.

As a noun, consuetudinary is the nme given to a ritual book containing the forms and ceremonies used in the services of a particular monastery, cathedral, or religious order.

WRONG. Reticent means "disinclined to speak." It is NOT a synonym of "reluctant," thought it's often misused that way.

Reticent - reluctant. I am reticent to post an answer.

I had been unsure of that, myself. So after I posted I went to Dictionary.com

http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=reticent

Please note definition 3.

With all due respect my dear Candy, if someone says a word is wrong the ultimate fall back will have to be a dictionary(s). Therefore using a dictionary to prove out the meaning of the word when told it is wrong should be acceptable.

Oh, I know that one because I know all the -mancies. That's divination with a mirror.

Next one: oneiromancy.

Edited to add: I looked up "brimborion," by the way, and it's a noun: a valueless THING.

This would be concerning divination (since you seem to like divination *W*) of dreams.

Next word should be easy: literateur

Shouldn't that be with two t's (litterateur)? A writer, I suppose. From French.

OK, next one...hmmmm...oh, here's a good one: sempiternal.

Beats me. I'm tempted to look it up, but that's cheating. So I'll wait.

It's actually cheating to put it here, I thought maybe Aileen would look here, she is the type that would know something like this. Hint: it is a made-up word.

NB: It is not a mis-spelling of fulgent as in Fulgencia Battista, who I hardly found brilliant at all.

Ron.

Ummmm...how exactly are we supposed to know made-up words?

I tried looking it up (since I already admitted I don't know it) and couldn't find it anywhere.

Ron.

Eeeek! Nope. Vocabulary and I are a very sad combo. Not my strong point.
I just swing in to learn something.
