Ouch. Sounds painful. I want to get branded. Something simple. Anyone ever had this done or maybe know where this can be done at? I've asked around and no one can help me and well, I know there has to be a lot of interesting people browsing this that has come across it.

I've googled it but found nothing promising. I'm very tempted on doing it myself (err having friends help) but infections don't sound fun. Any leads, tips, suggestions are welcome.

Don't they do branding in some frats?

I recall an article on this years ago. It was an issue because it was popular in "black" frats and some people thought it was too much like slave days.

Personally, I'm quite against heat branding...the risks are too high. Having grown up in the equestrian world, I've seen the horrible results that it can cause. Also, in my opinion, the brands looked pretty ugly. In the equine/livestock world, hardly anybody does heat branding anymore it all...everyone has switched over to the much safer/nicer looking freeze brands. Personally, I think that if its not safe to do to an animal, then its not safe to do to a person either.

I went that route also...with My zodiac sign as her tattoo.

I have to admit I like the tattoo better, not only is it more visible but she said that it hurt more.

I'm lucky enough to live in a fairly open Area, and have a great tat artist.
I wouldnt let the fact they were asses divert you from getting another one.

A lifestyle friend of mine suggests doing a cold brand before a hot brand first. From what I understand, he means that you take a piece of laminant and cut the pattern you want out of it, then use drops of liquid nitrogen (I think thats what he recommended) on the laminant pattern. That way you can see the brand itself for a couple of months, and if you decide you dont like it, it simply heals and fades away. Whereas with a heat brand, its permanent and you may end up regretting having it.

Actually it is the only tat / marking Master wants me to have. The guys at the shop figured out it was a Master/slave situation, and were not...um...kind about it. They treated me as though i was some sort of freak. i was surprised, thinking this shouldn't be new to them. Anyway i complained to the owner enough afterwards that they sent my check back. If i am ever to get another, i will definitely not go there!!

i had to trace it on myself daily with Sharpee pens. It was my first marking ever, and this made the end result not so shocking to me, since i was accustomed to seeing something similar to it on the same place. i was grateful that He had me do that.
