Though not all younger women want an older man, perhaps many do. I would say if you are having trouble attracting the type of woman you want, you should look to yourself first. While you may be manna from heaven, your profile reads like that of a whining child. A few tips - do not disparage others in your profile or in your journal - it is extremely unattractive and says NOTHING positive about you. The profile you have written says "i am a brat child used to getting my own way, why don't you come play with me? i know why, because those big bullies (read - "real" men of whom i am extremely jealous) have all the fun toys and all of the good playmates - are better men than i am. this makes you seem very insecure - not a good domly trait. -change your picture - you look very young to begin with - the photo looks like you are in your bedroom and your mommy is going to come in at any moment with milk and cookies. -in reality, even before getting to the whining part of the profile, you are 20 years old and have how much experience? dude, come on. Maybe you do, maybe you have taken classes and seminars and engaged with others, trained under the auspices of an expert, and what not - but where, you're not old enough to get into most places. if you are indeed experienced, then you should say exactly in what manners and ways and how many years. -i like older men, actually, i love older men and one of the best things about older men is their intelligence. what education do you have? what conversatin and philosophical points of view can you discuss? not what you've read in books, but that you know, that you have experienced? -it is one thing to proclaim dominance, another thing to be a dominant male. saying does not make it so. in what ways would a submissive be safe with you? the online thing - hmmm, if that's what you want - cool for you and there is probably someone who wants that too... but if you think cyber play with someone barely out of their teens gives you an edge on the beer belly grandpas, you are sorely mistaken. i believe that most people look at profiles and can only make a determination of interest based upon what you write and perhaps a photo if there is one. if you already know that you have stiff (pun intended viagra guys) competition, then you need to do an even better job of selling yourself. be direct, be truthful, be interesting. if you are the 20's dom with maturity and experience , make your profile (and your forum posts) reflect that. and i'm going to stop because i feel like a mom lecturing one of her children. newflowers

I agree about changing your profile text to something more positive. Talk about yourself more and skip the disparaging remarks about us older guys. No need to compare, really. I think lots of people realize that...if it really matters...not all of us older guys have beer bellies and failing hearts. mercmjm, I think you confuse cockiness and arrogance with dominance. You're a very young stud with a long road toward maturity ahead. afmvdp gave a thoughtful answer as have many others. The problem when you don't have enough knowledge and experience is that you don't know what you don't know. I am a different person than when I first started, although according to my mother, my dominance gene was in full force as a boy. I did date older women, a couple double my age (at 18-19) who didn't mind my cockiness and arrogance. So don't sweat it. Earn your stripes and you'll find what you need to find.

I came back with an additional thought. So many people tried to help, MarquisD, FelinePers, IrishMist, Lovingmaster45, MHOO314, Noah, and others. (Noah must be REALLY old!) Perhaps the answer is that mercmjm should SUBMIT first, so that he begins to understand the responsible behavior demanded of doms.

In response to the OP, just an observation but a good many of the submissives whom I've encountered seemed to have 'old souls' and as such, they look for someone with whom they can communicate on a higher level than is, generally, to be found among the younger generation. At the tender age of 20, your adult life experience is 2 years. Perhaps you've gone through hardships and what-not which have given you a different experience than other 20 year olds, but there's no indication of such a thing. Play to your strengths not the weaknesses or what you view as weaknesses of others. Showing your character, your charm and charisma is going to get you a lot further a lot faster than disparaging those of us who are a bit closer to medicare than you. Keep in mind that you have not, yet, experienced all that life has to offer, nor explored the vast possibilities. Besides, lots of us will be dead when you're just hitting your prime, so cut a little slack while we live out our twilight years, will ya? Some day, when you're old and grey, some 20 year old know it all is going to be making these sorts of comments about you... and you can just smile, nod and know how far he still has to go to get to where you're already going to be. :P Celeste

Just playing devils advocate. But couldn't the question just as easily be why do some older doms prefer less mature subs. Given that for the most part, age has been equated to experience. I know a couple have pointed out that it's not necessarily the case, but in general it has been the consensus that age equals maturity. So, it begs the question, why would a mature dom want a immature sub, when he could have a mature sub? Is it because he will fill threatened by an equally mature person. That wouldn't speak well for ones dom status. It seems the assumption is that older doms must be more mature, but that does beg the question why then would they seek less mature partners? Now, take yourself and add 20 years, it's obvious you will be a more knowledgable sub, well hopefully. Now imagine yourself as a dom, if you were looking for maturity in a partner, you'd probably select someone nearer to your age or older. Here's where I brace for impact, Wanting a younger sub would seem to indicate a immaturity for your age as a dom and not of maturity, or else you'd seek out a sub that was in the same ballpark. Where's the challenge in commanding respect from someone 20 years younger, it's more a given than something that is garnered by action, just because of societal conditioning. To seek a significantly younger sub would seem to indicate that one is merely riding the coattails of the presumptive maturity level of there age group, not necessarily being mature themselves. And the sub would also "feel" they are with someone more mature, but just as likely are just with a dirty old man instead of a younger one. Anyway, just figured I throw a possible alternative view in here. I don't know the answer but this one seems as feasible, as the current explanation. Is the Dom Mature for his age or Immature for his age. hmmm, I'm leaning immature, if they as a rule prefer younger subs as opposed to older.

Need, that is an unusually penetrating and well-phrased question. Speaking only for myself, I generally prefer and date girls my own age [±10], but it's not unusual for someone much younger to come on to me, and not just in the BDSM arena. I thought a counter girl in Wendy's the other day was going to devour me for dessert. That's not to imply any kind of special studliness (which of course I have and my phone is 407-), but that people who are younger than I have the outstanding maturity not to fret about age. I suppose the shallow side of me would prefer a woman with a brain my age, a face that is forever 30 and a body that is forever 20. It's a good thing we don't get what we want.

Either age=maturity or it doesn't. Perhaps, the Doms who choose young female Subs like being the trainer, the Master and the Teacher. Age is power, older people are generally viewed as more powerful, and perhaps they like that dynamic. Or, because he enjoys having a sexy young hottie as his sub. Younger subs may prefer an older and (to their perceptions) more experienced Dom. They may find older Dominant males more attractive than their younger brothers. But it is a moot point. As long as there are Doms who like younger subs and subs who like older Doms, and they are happy together, that's all that matters. Yeah, it's tough for the younger Doms who are competing for the young subs, but no one ever said that being a Dominant means that the world is handed to you on a silver platter. And calling older Doms immature because their subs are young is just plain sour grapes. I wonder what the poster above says about Dominas and older subs. I could have had a sub my age or a younger sub, but the person I have chosen to offer a training collar to is 28 years older than I am.
