To elaborate (and answer another's comment) there is a reason I require a slave to address his own spirituality...

There are four components to a slave or sub. The submissive mind, heart, body and soul. Western philosophy deals only with body and mind. The soul. heart and mind are the non-tangible aspects of the slave (or the Top for that matter) the Ba, the Ib and the Ka in Ancient Egyptian terms.

For a person, whether Top or bottom, to be healthy, all four aspects must be addressed. It is My responsibility to deal with these parts of My slave. The slave body is shaved, restrained, given the sensory input it needs to be whole and healthy. The slave mind is taught and guided. The slave heart is given the opportunity to love and be loved for all these, in a true slave, belong to Me... the slave soul, however, belongs to the slave and to the Divine. The slave soul must be brought to consciousness and to the ability to open in worship.

This is important! Now there are some Mistresses who style themselves Goddess and there are many slaves who use the term when addressing a Mistress. I am very clear with slaves that they will not use the term with Me. While I am a **reflection** of the Divine Universal Feminine, I am NOT a goddess nor am I worshipped. A lsave may revere, reverence, adore, abase, love Me, but worship, in the religious sense belongs to the Divine.

When I require a slave to exercise spiritual things, I mean anything from going out into the mountains and meditating to attending services at his chosen place of worship... I believe it was St. Augustine who said "Pray continually... even use words if you have to!" A prayer can be as simple as an indrawn breath in wonderment at a butterfly or sunset, to a full before-the-altar prostration and everything in between.

Even a slave who dislikes religion and doesn't want to set foot in any house of worship may go outside and watch the clouds, or listen to Mantovani or sit in a quiet place and reflect on his day.

Interesting. While I certainly agree it's perfectly acceptable for you to order your property to do so, I'd have to wonder what would happen if a slave came to be an atheist and totally have no spiritual connectivity whatsoever? There are those people out there.

Here's a question- what makes you define those things as "spiritual" things?

They might, and they would if ordered to obviously. But why are those things "spiritual" things?

Well, even an atheist can be spiritual. I don't think you have to believe in god to have a concept of spirituality.

I have to base it on my own setting of course.. and boy everytime I say it .. it sounds extrememly over the top arrogant.. but here goes...

I was raised some weird mix of chippewa ojibwe, christian, and follow your own path type of beliefs in my family.
So I learned of spirit, faith, shamanism, bhuddism, dao and taoism, and all kinds of igions and isms...

Everytime Im bound for a day or more in total sensory deprivation, I am forced to reach a state...

That state dare I say is what a seeker achieves with a shaman.. a monk spends their life trying to achieve..

I journey, I travel, I connect, I explore and understand not only every emotion, thought, spirit, and corner/crevice of my own mind, but I travel outwards in thought and connect spiritually with everything my spirit/mind/imagination/soul or whatever you want to call it can connect with..

The ability to deal with nothingness is a spiritual journey all of its own... and when one learns to cleanse, empty, and restrengthen themselves in something where someone has taken away everything, including involuntary functions...

You begin to understand many things inherently, that many people have spent their entire life trying to find, achieve, or control.

Everytime I go to into supspace I recharge and come out feeling like superman... so there has to be something that recharges my spirit... and brother.. thats spiritual healing XD

I think BDSM can have a very keen influence on your spirituality, but it is so variable to each individual person, that it's hard to pin down.
I really don't know if BDSM is compatible with most religions, because I don't follow any of them, and I don't know a ton about most of them.
For me, any higher being that's out there, they'll know how and when to get a hold of me, if they need to. Until then, I just work to make myself a better person.

There is something uniquely gratifying about being able to be respected and loved enough to have someone choose you, and choose to give their care and control over to you. To me, that is good for my spirit. That is why i'm a Dominant. For my personal experience, the rest is just the mechanics.

P.S. The mechanics is a whole lotta fun too!
