Please spank...err thank her for that article for me. As a Canadian I was beaming with national pride after reading it. (Yes, Canadians feel that, too!!!)

I have gay married friends, pot-smoking neighbours, and a whole apartment building full of lovely oversea students from Asia that share my day-to-day existance and guess what? We even line up neatly to get on the overly crowded buses during rush hour!!

No guns are pulled in the loading of the vehicle, although a great many cellphones and travel mugs are utilized. (Personally, I credit the caffeine. Gotta love Timmys!)

God Bless, Canada!

Three cheers for Canada.

Now I just have to convince the family we need to head North.

I was strangely offended by many things said there.

But yes, Canada does rule all.

Interesting...Care to elaborate on what offended you? Maybe I missed something.

Thanks for posting that. It's been a while since I've felt good about this country....well, basically since the recent election where we voted in a bunch of conservative yahoos *sigh*

the primary reason America will never be as cool as Canada is, quite simply...religion

the bible-thumpers of this country would never allow most, if not all, of what Canada has to offer. after the release of that article, i am wondering if Canada's imigration will increase while American citizenship decreases.

it wouldn't surprise me in the least. which would leave America as a predominantly religous contry, with no clue why we all left...LOL

I don't see why we can't take all the uber conservative religious types in Canada and let them move to the States, then let all the liberal types in the States move to Canada then everyone will be happy. We could make it a fair swap and be done with it.

HAPPY? Have you noticed the weather? M

I prefer to reside in an area where water is a liquid and not a building material.

Hey, it's a small price to pay

Besides, it's a good excuse to get naked and snuggle under the covers for 8 months out of the years. Body heat is good

Ummmm, so do we. Soooooo, lets bring the uber conservatives up here and bring the Canadians down there....just think of it...Canada, with tropical weather! It is downright intoxicating.

On a serious note, do remember thatthere is many things wrong up here in the frozen North (ever heard of an "Order in Council" or a "Lieutenant-Governor's Warrent" or worse yet, a "Writ of Assistance"), and while we are in many many ways much more liberal than the USA, we have our own right-wing loonies, we just don't usually elect them (Mike Harris was just a bad dream, it never really happened).

If you have nothing nice to say about the country in which you live, maybe you should say nothing at all? I am offended by your total disregard for a country that has given so much to help so many people, including yourself and your ancestors.
My heritage is Blackfoot indian, my mother was full blooded, my ancestors were here before the America's were discovered, and yet, I have no problem defending my country, which IS America. If you are so ashamed of America and the way she is handled, then go live elsewhere, but take your shitty comments with you when you do.

Let's all give a rousing cheer for tolerance and freedom of speech...
Come on up north Michael, we don't mind people speaking their mind up here, we aren't afraid.

FEAR is not the reason I posted that. I remember a bumper sticker when I was a teenager, it read "America. Love It Or Leave It" I am just simply stating that if anyone doesnt like this country, that is the beauty of what our soldiers fought so hard to obtain, FREEDOM, the freedom to leave. He can say anything he wants to, but I have the FREEDOM to tell him to love it or leave it. It never ceases to amaze me, that the ones who bitch the loudest about this country are the same ones who cringe under the umbrella of freedom that our countrymen fought for, when they feel like their liberties are at stake. I have lost too many of my family members in World War II, Viet Nam and Desert Storm to sit quietly when someone is complaining that we dont have enough freedom here in America. Pick up a gun, picket sign or a pen, Michael if you feel like you dont have enough freedom here. FIGHT for that freedom.

As for having tolerance, I dont have to have it. That is also one of the FREEDOMS that I have a right to, thanks to the blood of my grandfather, 3 great uncles, 2 cousins and brother-in-law who fought and died for it.

What? MoGa isn't entitled to *her* "freedom of speech" too?

If you want him, you can have him. Besides, we have all the w(h)ine we need from California.
