What have you discovered in your D/s's relationship, that you never expected?, was it a good/bad?

I discovered that relationships are simultaneously about holding true to ourselves and to others. No matter what you feel you give- you're giving yourself the opportunity to be yourself. It's as much a selfless act as it is a selfish one.

And that's a good thing.

More things than I could ever possibly list but the one thing that stands right out to me is that I am a much stronger and more adaptable human being than I had ever given myself credit for. Of course, this is positive.

I hope this doesnt get taken the wrong way....but...

Iv'e always been submissive in relationship, and I've always had a pretty good handle on myself, so a D/S Master/slave relationship didnt give me any surprises in that way...

What it did open up for me surprisingly was a whole new world of kinky sex and adult fun.....thats a good thing.

Love. It was bad the first time and it's incredible this time. The first time, I did not love my Master and he loved me and it ruined the D/s part of our relationship because he wanted what I didn't have to give. This time, the love is mutual and I've grown and expanded beyond my wildest dreams.

That love is .. not limited <shrug> .
The bounty of a heart is beyond what I can yet begin to comprehend.

That I had no clue I am a masochist. Meaning - my personal pain and pleasure wires can be manipulated and cross. Pain mixes in the cranial neuro- soup and expresses as pleasure. I get sexually excited. Even when it seriously hurts.

I endure pain in submission, too. Still excited because... well, hell.. gentlemanly sadists float my boat.

Have a great weekend everyone!

That I'm an exhibitionist.

That I can, in fact, be patient.

And that when I give power away I get it back ten fold.

That dominant females do exist. They are not just figments of male projection fantasy. They are not pros charging $150 an hour. They don't resemble porn pin ups in latex, leather, and high heels.

That you have to be really lucky to find the right one. That you really have to let go and try things to make any progress at all, whatsoever. That flesh and blood trumps fetishes and/or mastubatory fantasy. That one cannot perfectly allign everything in his relationships to others --- so you do the best you can --- be as happy as possible with what you have.

That no matter where you are in life, its worth it to take risks. It helps to have loved ones around you for support and understanding, but precisely when you take a risk, is precisely when you step out, all alone into the whirlwind of life itself.

I have learned that Dominance and submission can exist simply between two people without fetish, bells, whistles and role playing. But I also learned that I still love the bells, whistles, fetish, and toys.

I am also keenly aware all the time of how much more fun life is with kink in it, than without it.

i'm with proudsub on this one. i never in a million years would have thought years ago that i'd become a masochist today. i discover more and more that excites me all the time. If i would have peeked into the future years ago i probably would have freaked myself out...LMAO!!

That I am a submissive all the way to my core and that I long to give myself to him fully so he can have the control. 12 more days to go!!!!

I have discovered what it is to love and be loved in return. That I am very sexually responsive and somewhat of a masochist, and as slavejali said, a whole new world of sexual expression. I'm sure there are still some things left to discover!

I have discovered with my last and favorite Domina that this woman will probably be a close friend for life!
As opposed to my past 'nilla relationships where I don't speak anymore and avoid them at all costs!

I like that we based our relationship on trust and honesty, so we still interact on that level.
It is a relationship in transformation, dealing with our feeelings, as opposed to good-bye, see ya, etc...
We have stayed connected with good communicaton, mutual love and respect.
"Surprise" exes can be loving important people in your life!
