I don't understand something. I thought the message boards were meant to be for discussion, learning, and understanding. However, I'm starting to see a lot of personal ads posted on here. I've also seen posts from people asking not to use these boards in that manner because it's not meant for that. Do you think that people have no respect for the way things are run on this site, that they don't read what the guidelines are, or that they just do what they want without thinking?

All the above, and it seems neither the guidelines, nor the anti-welcome mats posted as replys to other troll threads... in complete biss, poised ready to grace us with yet another personal ad!

A good bit of it is 'monkey see, monkey do', but think about it... what can you realistically expect from a damn monkey anyway? oooh oooh knuckles are sore!

Perhaps a feedback loop to the forum moderator can be established for handling personal ad/troll threads, akin to periodically sweeping out the trash?

Added: OMG I didn't think of it before, but a Listen to a Monkey forum could be created, and all troll threads moved there... in a flash! I like it!

Ok, question for you here. If no respect for the boards rules, would a submissive respect a person who cannot respect such a simple task?
Respect is earned. Trust is earned.

Anyway, its something to think about.

Playing devil's advocate I'd have to say that more than likely some folks are so new they don't realize it's not acceptable. yeahyeahyeah, the rules are posted and there are other threads in which it's also discussed. How many of these people do you think bother to read all that?

I've seen one post by a guy who did a trolling post, was asked to please not do it and then apologized and has since been contributing to the forums.

It's too easy to assume the worst of someone.

I noticed that too.

That's a good question.

Thought it was worth talking about :)

I think most (but not all) is just ignorance. I agree with MizSuz that although it is posted it probably is not read. (Hey did you read your car owners manual, your stereo manual, your toaster manual, or the stack of manuals for your computer?)

In you again I love your "Monkey" board idea, but I would make it even easier for the moderators. Call it "Personals" and watch the lightning rod get hit and the "ask a sub/slave" board not get hit.

By the way I am accepting applications for a slave to do all my housework and give me all their money. No fat chicks because I want to have sex with them.

Oh, if a potential ad poster is reading this, try this link http://www.collarme.com and use the profiles there to post your personal ad.

The vast majority of people on this site do seem to be treating it with respect. Most seem to be people trying to share experiences, others like myself, are really just learners.

I don't know what to make of some of the profiles I have browsed though. These are not from HNG's so much as Horny Net Jerks - they don't have any real clue about or interest in BDSM. Can we not start up a 'nilla Gallery of Shame?
