Think about getting them permanently removed. Waxing is only painful for certain hair types and depending on the skill of the waxer. Mine never hurt really, but it did release a ton of wonderful endorphians! Driving home was something else! LOL! For me I get razor burn only when the hair starts growing back in. Which simply NEVER happens when I wax. It was explained to me like this: When you shave you are cutting the hair at the base - the thickest part of the hair. When it starts growing back (and since it's right below the surface - it comes back quickly), it has an edge, because you cut the hair, so the top is flat, with an edge around the diameter of the hair. This causes it to catch on things, like ... cloth! So underwear, TP, clothes, blankets, etc. , all tug on the hair, pulling it in the follicle, irritating the skin around and the follicle itself. When you wax - you are pulling the hair out from the root, so when it grows back, it grows back naturally as hair does .. with a point, no edges to catch on anything, so the result is that your hair follicles aren't being irritated, and that why you never get bumps, unless it's ingrown, which is fixed by breaking it open to release the hair so it grows out naturally. And yanno, it was true. Add in the fact that my hair started not coming back in patches and getting finer and less and less over time pretty much sealed my preference to be waxed. Too bad I lost my waxer when she moved, and never found another. lol Nothing like a full body wax (pits, legs, and full genital region) to get an awesome endorphian rush though! hehe ~ShadeDiva
