Why would I bother to "put you down"? I can not help if you felt "put down" by a simple statement of fact. You are the one who took it as a censure. When you do not bother to read the entire thread, you miss pertinent facts. Often posters clarify or add to their post as the thread matures.
And, I will say again, Dungeon Masters do not bother regular scenes. They only interfere if they feel it is a dangerous one. While you're right they'll also mention rule breaking, that isn't their main function. By your very mention of the liability aspect, you confirm that you do understand that they are there to watch for dangerous things. The "girl" in your group set herself up. When you know you're going to be doing a scene that may be questionable, you talk with the Dungeon Monitors before starting.
