Thank you all, I'll review the material when I next get the chance.

The problem with cross-referencing "training collar" and "puppy play" is, of course, the fact that a training collar does exist for dogs, that is a slightly more aggressive form of the choke chain (they're actually a lot of fun to wear, IMHO, but that's a different topic). I still have not found a conclusive link between the ritualistic "Collar of Training" mentioned by some BDMS groups on the internet, and the training collar used by dog-owners, but it's a lot of information to sift through.

Actually, Dread, I was familiar with a great many of the trivium mentioned, but it's nice to have it all lumped together in a chronology like that. Thanks for the info.

Again, thank you to everyone who has contributed to my latest quest for knowledge. There's no good reason for finding out any of this, but I'm the obsessive bookworm type, so knowing is it's own reward.
