Being a transgender I've had a lot of time to think about my sexual orientation. There's this scale, the McKenzie scale (I think that's what it is called), that states that the majority of people fall somewhere inside the middle. There's a very few amount of people who fall to that extreme side of the spectrum (Straight/Homosexual). So does that make the majority of us bisexual?

I don't think so. Given the present circumstances and how the definition of bisexual has changed, I think it really depends on the person and their perspective on bisexuality.

I believe that you're referring to the Kinsey Scale that was developed by Dr. Alfred Kinsey in 1948. Today, it's looked upon as a rather simplistic look at sexual orientation.

Using Kinsey's original classifications, 0-1 is heterosexual, 2-4 is bisexual and 5-6 is homosexual. If you were using a straight linear progression as the Kinsey Scale diagram does, there are more heterosexual and homosexual people than there are bisexuals.

How do the numbers bear out in the real world? Hell, that's anybody's guess.

It's amazing to me some of the things people come up with to try and manipulate the mind of others. Also to justify their actions and ignorance.

DD,

Can you please elaborate on your post?

quote:

... try and manipulate the mind of others.

Where is the manipulation?

quote:

... to justify their actions and ignorance.

Again ... please elaborate. Who's actions are you talking about, what are those actions, and how does that show ignorance?

While DP doesn't seem gay, it still would create a closeness where I'd want to know the other dude pretty well. There is also the type of DP using an artificial object...Mike
