hi knees2You here, i was wondering,
i have met a Domme who just became one after being a sub, like 1 week later~

to me this is cleary a sign that something is wrong

if your a sub for years and then 1 week later your a Domme, i guess i'm just wondering could a sub become a Domme in a weeks time

If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. I have known many people who started out subs who evolved into really kick-ass doms. Not one of them I know decided after only one week. Usually it was an evolution that took months if not years.

But, this is simply my own experience.

I may be misunderstanding your question, but will attempt an answer anyway. I was a submissive for six years before beginning to explore dominance, but I also have comitted to a year of learning prior to accepting a submissive on a permanent basis. Actually, I feel anyone who is going to actively practice as a dominant OR submissive should take some time to learn from those more experienced. It's too important not to do so. Since I am a loving dominant woman, (as well as a loving submissive woman) I know that emotions are almost always involved in these special relationships, and I want to know what to expect as I am seeing things from the other side.

Talk with this person and you will know after some good, honest communication if she is legit or not. Don't be afraid to ask bluntly what you want to know.

anyhoo-

I subbed for a while- I never Identified as a submissive, but I accepted it as part of my training. It never _really_ worked for me, but I learned alot.

My most dear friend Tess switched from Submissive?sometimes Switch to full time Domme in what I observed to be about 48 hours. And She is right up there- at Number three in my book as femDommes go (MizSuz is Number one and MizSuz is Number two).

All that said- I am a little leary of those in the scene (or the Life, or whatever) who jump roles very quickly. But that's me. And over there- that's you. And somewhere in the middle- that's the RIGHT answeer.

Frankly any idiot can top or bottom. Knowledge of knots and how to tie someone up, or how to be tied up and remember the safe words, are not hard skills to learn. That is 98% of BDSM. (We can argue percentage, but you get the point.

)

The other 2% is problematic. It is also kinda important when the scene ends.

If this woman approached me, I would agree to serve her as a sub if all else was OK. I'd expect her to be mercurial and introspective since she has a big switch in her mind to flip.

In a sense I'd be training her to be a Domme. I'd have to tell her that is not good. (The possibility of "topping from below" in everyday life would be immense.)

I'd insist all eyes were open if I was a slave.

(The difference between sub and slave in my mind is the sub submits in the bedroom where the slave submits everywhere.

Yeah I know that is only my interpretation.)

I saw this post and had to respond. I have been active within the lifestyle for three years now, as a submissive. Over the last five months, I have been transitioning Myself...and believe that being in the Dominant role is where I belong. I completely agree that if we view a submissive's transition to "Dominance" from the perceptive of one that takes it seriously...TIME is something that needs to be taken, as I have. I am preparing for taking on the role of Dominant just as feverishly as I did the role of submissive. I believe those that JUMP into it are there for the kink, the thrill and are no where near understanding the true meaning of the role. Just My two cents :)

Two thoughts come to mind.

The first, is that if this is a woman who is simply exploring different aspects of herself, online, then I dont see anything wrong, per se, other then she isn't knowlegeable enough about herself or the lifestyle to know what she wants.

The second, is that if its just a chat game for her... then its about as silly as waking up and deciding to be a vampire or werewolf.

Regardless of the case, common sense says to just take what anyone says about their experience with a grain of salt.

Es muy importante practicar mucho, yo se, porque yo estudi espanol en Costa Rica hace cuatro anos, y mi espanol estuve (grammar?) mejor...

Pero ahora me espanol esta mala! No recuerdo much acerca de grammar, y hablo en "spanglish." Que triste!

I started experimenting at a young age, and I can say I felt more domineering most of the the time. There was a side that wanted to be under control, and I never denied myself those feelings. I personally think, in order to be an understanding top or bottom you should expirence both sides. I think if someone said " I am going to be a top" after a week, that person will contiue to be confussed and eventually move on to something else.
