Lick Bush in 2004. I have an extremely physically demanding job, well, two actually. I cut out most carbs from my diet several years ago. I dont do ketosis testing and eat primarily protein 4-6 times a day. On the other hand I love red wine (not at work) and drink coffee and diet coke, largely because one of my jobs has variable shifts and I no longer have a sleep schedule. When I started doing this, I never noticed much weight loss. I am 6'1, medium build, and was 204 pounds, now I am still 6'1 (surprise) and weigh 198. On the other hand, my waist size has gone down about 5 inches from where it was. My neck and shoulder muscles (You put a helmet on and get repeatedly kicked in the head and tell me if you get neck and shoulder muscles...) have increased in size so I have gone from a 42L to a 46L coat size due to my shoulder muscle mass. One thing I did discover is if I do not eat high carbohydrates the night before and the morning I teach my class, I can get through about 3 fights and I fall into a black abyss of exhaustion in a way I never did with plenty of carbs in my diet. Atkins is nice, but those I know who have done it without increasing their activity level dont seem to get very far. Sinergy
