Status: offline 		When we are larger, we have rolls, especially if we have dieted and can't afford plastic surgery to have the excess skin removed. It seems no matter how well you shower, at some point during the day, there is an "ucky" odour under the rolls or breasts.
Years ago I couldn't wear sweaters because of the BO that would happen during the course of the day. I found something that comes from Israel and can be found in some health food stores. It is Lavalin cream, they have it for underarms & for feet. You don't need to use it every day, it is expensive in comparison to regular deoderants, but you use a lot less. I use it under my arms, under my breasts & under my belly roll. I had tried using the crystal deoderant, but had a bad reaction to it.

If you want to know more do a keyword search online for Lavalin deodorant and you can find a place near you that stocks it or order online.

This relates to BDSM in that I don't want to have a male sub worshipping my body and saying "eeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwww". I want to smell & feel clean.

Status: offline 		Well I don' thave any rolls of fat anywhere. However, under my breasts do sweat a lot.

Is this an anti persperant or a deodorant? Anti persperants are really bad for women. They have been connected with breast cancer. I'm not 100% sure of the current statistics..but I know they are not good.

Oh, also what is a BHM?

Hadn't heard of that. The other concern had to do with a particular alluminum salt (sulfate?) used in antiperspirants but not deodorants that was correlated with breast cancer by an American study back in the early 90s. I don't know if the results have stood the test of time. Their data was correlational rather than experimental but they found a strong correlation between antiperspirant and breast cancer (not necessarily proof of cause) and that triggered a lot of other studies to follow.

That was about the same time alluminum was being associated with Alzhiemer's, which has since not held up to further scrutiny.

Status: offline 		I never use baby powder as once it gets wet from sweat it turns hard and is a definite skin irritant. I am very careful not to breath powder particles as it gets in the lungs and like anything else that is aspirated can cause an infection. Corn starch and gold bond work well for me to help with the sticky feeling during the summer months. Sundew

Status: offline 		I had tried using baby powder under the breasts in the summer and it gave me a rash and sort of a mold or fungus so i have medicated powder that the doc gave me for under the breasts when i need it.

Status: offline 		There's a cream called 'Neat 3B" here, which is similar to nappy rash cream, I'm guessing, aimed at those who chafe between the thighs, buttocks and breasts. It does work quite well, and doesn't 'slip' off. Wearing skirts too much in warmer weather has, in my experience, led to painful thigh chafing. This cream has worked wonders at soothing and helping to prevent soreness. neat feat

Status: offline 		I like gold bond also but it dosen't have a great smell Baby powder for me dosen't work as well.. I live south Ga almost to fla. so it gets real hot here in the summer and i am a waitress on the weekends so i do a lot of walking and ya well my thighs i guess could be a little smaller cause they tend to rub together some with all the walking. Just wish Gold Bond smelled better!

One of the defenses the tobacco companies used was that he used talcum powder in his business and that was a "known" cancer causing agent. I didn't know that, but a lawyer buddy of mine told me that it was something that shouldn't be used on female genitals for that reason. Made me shiver. I grew up in a time when all women used bath powder.

Some guy in Louisianna is selling something for diaper rash called (spelling isn't my strong suit) Boudreau's Butt Paste. It was in the news recently. There's a high school teacher there whose hobby is race car driving. He's one of her sponsors and it's painted on her car.

I have the thigh-chafing thing as well, which is not only a problem for larger people. My slim ex-housemate got the same thing as well... it's more how your thighs are built. In fact, in the summer, I never wear a skirt if I know I have a lot of walking to do. So you can imagine I was interested in reading about this product.

I followed the link to the site. I'm not sure if I'll find it in Canada but I'll see about them shipping some here if I ordered it. I have a question for you though... is the odour pleasant? Very important for me as I am very sensitive to smell.

Also, I found this bit on the site so funny "Ideal for athletes, trampers or sports people".

Obviously, a tramper has a different connotation in the land down under ;)

In this instance, the tobacco companies were actually telling the truth! The chemical composition of talc is very similar to asbestos, and there is evidence that exposure to talc can cause lung and ovarian cancer. People using talcum powder might want to switch to a corn starch based powder.

I have stopped using deodorant altogether and just put baby powder on (in?) my pits instead - and although I do sweat a lot, I have not noticed the irritation mentioned in another post after it 'cakes up'

what I would like to know, is if anyone has any suggestions to handle thigh chafing that occurs even while wearing pants (other than the obvious lose weight)?

Baby powder works there too, even hubby uses it, just hold yor breath when you apply it.

Status: offline 		I will restate my position and back up the already voiced opinions. Powder...talc, or baby, is a no go. Both contain perfume on top of the particles that float in the air. For those that are smell sensitive use corn starch it is heavy enough not to become airborne and reach your lungs. If the temporary smell does not bother you gold bond it is a good product. For years the medical profession has been out spoken against using baby powder on babies. They develop lung problems and even pneumonia from the particles. If you dont have access to the orginal product that LadyShoshin mentioned and can tolerate the consistency and odor use desitin or zinc oxide on already chaffed skin when you are home and wear clothes that you dont mind staining, in the morn the rash/irritation will be gone. Status: offline 		Since i have lost a lot of weight (more to go yet), i was told by a doctor after my shower/bath to towel dry lightly and use a hair dryer (not too hot be careful) to dry private parts, under arms, and area if any rollls. i too have found that if You slow down your dieting... and exercise it helps tone, but takes time. it is a pain slowing down the diet but worth it to avoid rolls. I too use coconut lotion all over my body and feet and then use my fav. body splash. At times i even lightly spray it on my hair... hmm men seem to love the smell of my hair (my secret passing it on). *smile also i try to wear a shell and button up shirt... and too try to keep most of my fabric cotton as it breathes best.

Left untreated or on a hot day it can become a painful sore - as the skin will pull and tear on a celluar level.

Aquaphor will stop the pain, make it slippery so the skin won't grip itself and keep tearing/chafing/rubbing, and heal it incredibly fast.

It's available over the counter nowadays I believe - and I think it's fairly inexpensive.

The beauty of having a dermatologist as a father lol.
