Play can mean anything to anyone, really. It's quite a relative term. For me, play can cover the enitre spectrum. I usually use it to describe when I'm having my way with a girl, or when I'm beating her without any disciplinary agenda in mind. "Play" tends to be more fun for me, because I can just be cruel and degrading for my own pleasure and not have to focus on addressing it as a lesson.
