quote:
I agree that differences of opinion arise. I also respect that for without honest open debate no issue can be resolved. I will be the first one to defend the rights of others to disagree with my views for that is what this nation was built on. I will also defend the rights of peaceful anti war protest for it is a right and one that should never be taken away. But I will also be in the middle of the counter demonstration. Well said, well respected. quote:
I pray for the safe return of your son and every soldier over there. Guage, I only wish I had thought to say that too. quote:
The majority of the people in Iraq are thankful for what our military has done and they do want freedom and democracy. quote:
No asshole can make that claim here, that these people are downtrodden and beg help. Based upon my experience overseas, the majority resent our being there. From my view, the liberal American press struggles to find positive 'good news' stories to feed the public. Yes, Iraqis want to enjoy freedom, but not after nearly 40,000 of their citizens have been killed, far more than Hussein ever killed. We don't realize this, but before the invasion, Baghad was one of the most progressive and Westernized cities in the Middle East. Hussein was a vile man, but he nothing compared to some other leaders, particularly Kim Jon Il. Thought: It always struck me as ironic that whilst North Korea and Iran openly bragged about their nuclear weapons programs, we invaded the one country that denied having weapons.
