Heh. I did not really notice that there was any sort of trend, save one. There are the same few people who pull the same crap on the same types of threads again and again and again. They think it makes them look clever, or smarter than the person they are picking on, or that their views are somehow superior. Little do they know that to many who wish not to contribute they look like idiots. They just cannot resist the opportunity to berate or belittle someone else who they think are not as edumacated as themselves.

You will also notice the same, wise people and others that keep their distance (and no, I am not referring to Me). I can name names, but I am sure many of you have already noticed the smart ones that know it is anything but becoming to be a vulture. Besides, that is one hell of an ugly bird.

I do not ever read profiles, as I do not care to read a whole bunch of bullshit like "You will do this, you will not do this, you will kiss my ass, you will lick my boots, you will listen to my every stupid demand in order to even hope to talk to me, and at the very least you will pay me money." I can not be bothered. So, I just assume that every person I post to on here, whether I like them or not, is My equal. I do not care whether they profess to be a sub, slave, Master, Dom/me, transexual or whatever. They are all My equals. I can only trust that each and every person here will feel the same way I do, although it is becoming self-evident that is not the case.

Hi. I don't care. Thanks.

If someone has to tell you how smart (or great) they are, chances are they are not.

When someone new, male or female, Dom or sub, begins to post, regulars who don’t recognize or relate to the person’s writing will fall into the comfort of the group of others they do know. Working towards the goal of building esteem and finding acceptance in the group, regulars will attack outsiders. The outsider is also seen as a threat to the regulars own places in the group. It is pretty common in all social situations and the way for a new person to handle this insensitive period is to stick around long enough to become familiar, be judged and gain acceptance.

I don't know...

Everyone was as nice as can be to me from day one...

I think it depends on what you say and how you say it.

I'm not sure it has anything to do with being new...

I wouldn't quite say that about my own experience, but I haven't had any bad reactions.

The person I came closest to realy butting heads with is now one of the two people I get on best with on the forums *Grins at Irish*

But yes, if you come in with a reasonable attitude, you get treated reasonably. Come in like a pize duck and you get shot down in flames. Same in most places, not just here.

Men will try and woo the newbies and women attempt to act like "sisters" and want to look like friendly people.

As a Newcomer to this site I can say I have experienced just that.
I expect it to a certain extent...its human nature and those internal animal instincts.
Having a thick skin does help with being able to handle the"initiation period",I have manage to make it to a 'Perverted' status(yay).

My POV everyone has the potential to offer an experience, each experience can offer knowledge. "Knowledge is Power"

In my brief time here, I have noticed that when a dominant shows his/her ignorance in a post they are pretty well skewered; but if a submissive makes the same type of error they (usually female) get a lot of support and "education". Is this just me or am I seeing things clearly?

Personally, I am pretty comfortable in telling someone that they are chocked-full of stupid, regardless of their gender or position on the power exchange totem pole....but still, I have seen this behavior quite often. I think the behavior stems from some people's belief that if they are especially sweet or kind to a woman..(especially a submissive woman).. it will improve their odds of getting laid. (Well... at least get some good waking material to read in the wee hours of the morning when their wife and unmentionables are asleep.)

I think you're seeing things pretty clearly..

That's a determination everyone has to make on their own. As for respect, that has to be earned.

Sometimes it's best to assume people are dumb until they prove otherwise.

I agree that overall the boardee regulars tend to be nicer to women than men, but Thorns can you blame the men being nice hoping to get laid?? Of course you should be nice (or mean if that's what turns him/her on) if you want to bag him/her, lol. M

Nope. Don't blame em at all....especially as there are only a few who can woo a woman whilest being a mean, crotchety bastard. (LROD comes to mind as being one of the few who can pull it off though...)

yes, but it would be nice to see a little more acceptance in a lifestyle that is outside of the mainstream. i expect the "common" response from common people . . .

Raises hand..... been called dumb... dumbshit... among a few other things.. sense Mods won't let me put a name up here... let's just say I know my name pretty damn good now... LOL

Candy if you remember when i first came to boards.. i asked about respect... still wonder about all that too... LOL.. one earns it.. one should have it till they prove themselves unworthy of it... there was so many responses to it.. i got dizzy and still don't know for sure about the respect aspect of it all...so I decided I would just try to be nice.. and respectful... untill one proves they're not worthy of getting respect from me.

So good to see you back too... LOL
