Does anyone here believe that lying has nothing to do with being an honest person?

I can think of one guy around here who considers himself an honest person. Problem is he is a pathological liar so he simply redefines reality to match whichever version of the truth he has already lied about. Works fine for him -- he is happy as a lark!

Simple test -- the more a person claims to be honest the more likely he is a liar because their honesty is usually the first thing they lie about.

Well, if so, is he a murderer?

The law brakes murder down into various categories: 1st and 2nd degree, manslaughter, reckless endagement, justifiable, self defense, etc.

Circumstances play a large role in evaluating the crime, when murder is treated a such.

I think the worst lies are ones that play on another's trust and reliance -- i.e. getting trust through dececption in order to do harm. I suppose this would be lying with malicous forethought., or in legal jargon, First Degree Lying.

when the day is done and the setting of the sun comes around, dead is still dead.

as to lying, a mistruth is, after all is said and acted upon, still a mistruth.

neither of these get there in the same way, but the same result is there. you've got a corpse and mistrust.

<goodness, i'm opinionated when i finally get some sleep>

In the eyes of the law, it'd be first degree murder. Punishable by death. But then i dont care much for the laws. But straight up is he a murder? Cant tell unless you know how he felt. His intent.

Impersonating someone online to get a FEM DOM's attention and some sexy cyber exchanges ain't quite the same thing. That's just usual bar room behavior the world over.

i think the worst lies are those done to do harm to others. i think impersonatig some online is just dumb. Escpecially to get some one elses attention. Intelligence would tell you, that you'd have a better shot with the Domme, if you were yourself. Impersonatin is just a dead end. It will never go anywhere. Lets see, be yourself and have these erotic messages with the POSSIBILITY of it going further.. or never having that possiblity. But then most men dont think with their brains, they think with their cock.

Personally i my opionon, lying is unintelligent. For one, its way to easy to get caught. For two, one thing i've noticed is the truth always comes out. No matter how long it takes to come out, it ALWAYS comes out. Which is why i dont worry about the truth. Because i know, eventually i will have it. Some how, some way, its going to come out. When it comes to ppl, it always comes out. Nothing can stay hidden for ever. People ALWAYS slip up. Some how, some way. Nobody is perfect.

Which is why i say lying is unintelligent. (among other reasons, but that being the biggest)

i've GOT to say something! First, i find pathological liars hilarious. They are usually easy to see as they lie so often that their slip ups are so often. It is amazing to me how they even believe their own lies. Its like they cant even seperate reality. Case in point, my grandfather is a pathological liar and its hilarious.

Agree with the simple test. Cos um, why wouldnt a liar lie about being honest? And personally, i believe everyone lies, even in some small way. Even if its for the good. For the better. As some of the posts here have put out. Yet its still a lie, so there fore you are still a liar.

Which is why i say, you can lie and be and honest person

i've got to agree on this one, too. "methinks thou doest protest too much" still pertains.

Frying is not healthy. But venting is. So go for it.

So it is not just behaviors but motivations as well.... this indentiifies the character of a person.

the Good person is motivated towards moral excellence that is manifested thru character strengths into Demonstrated behaviors!
I like this, and think it pretty much covers my feelings on honesty and the extremely rare need to be dishonest... This should in no way let anyone believe I excuse continued, self serving deceptive words/deeds. M

Having been lied to in the past, by words, omissions or acts, i have a fairly hard time accepting it when another lies. i do understand the "little white lie" of "no dear, that dress doesn't make you look fat"..lol.

i think, however, that sometimes what one calls a lie another might not. Case in point: a friend of mine told her unmentionable that she'd take him to the store "tomorrow". Well, tomorrow came, and life intervened and it just wasn't possible. Her unmentionable is screaming to his mother -- "you lied to me!!" i personally didn't see it as such, but the two of them did. my unmentionable tried that "once"...'nuff said..lol.

i guess the point i'm trying to make is that sometimes it's a matter of defination, of semantics, of the intention (you betcha i like your hat Mom), but in these rather gray areas of life it's up to each of us to decide what we believe and what we'll put up with...

peace and love

Well, I am in late, but no Mr. Hitler, there are no jews hiding within my house.

Honesty, for christ's sake, that's the mantra?

What do you people percieve as the objective constitiution of reality, please? Honesty, as I have experienced it on this site, runs no hotter or colder than in real life. Lotsa threads on the shit, but very few actual shovelers, mostly; it is someone's distress that what they percieved within themselves to be the situation, and are taken aback and somehow crippled by this overwhelming chasm of poseurs, players, yadda yadda yadda..............

So, you all come to this life (it's alot like comin' to Jesus on the Oral Roberts show, Ja?) and then are all flipped out about the SSC and RACK and all the other wikipedantic shit.........Weeeeeeeeeeeeeel, here's the news........so you had your clarifiying moment........most do, very few follow thru............

enough.

So how you been BTF? I ain't talked to you in awhile and I miss you, terreibly so, you know.

By the way, this post is in general and not specific to M.

Sincerely,

Ron Melby

I think that some leeway could be allowed here. For example...when my father was sick, just before he passed away...he would constantly ask about his dog. At first, I told him that the dog had died, which did nothing but agitate him. So, I started telling him that the dog was outside, or off playing somewhere. I lied. Totally and completly. But that does not make me a dishonest person. I believe that you can be an honest person, and yet, at the same time, tell some lies that need to be told.

yes and that is where the motivation of the behavior comes in as well!

heavens to betsy, what are we to do? the face, or the no face, the moving picture or the static one...they both look pretty good to me...what's a girl to do? okay, i pick the one on the left. that one is telling the truth.

wait, they're both on the left. one has oooooohhhhh pretty handcuffs...and the other paddles, and i gotta know he has to know how to use them...a conundrum. can i pick both? that's it, i pick both. both are truthful. and that's all i'm going to say (for now) about that.
