1. Information heard from another.
2. Law. Evidence based on the reports of others rather than the personal knowledge of a witness and therefore generally not admissible as testimony.

So when people say "I did this...", "I saw this...", "He told me this...", "He did such and such..." they are relating information they themselves received through their own senses, the things to which they bore personal witness. That's not hearsay, that's a 1st person account of something. I read this thread and while I don't know anyone involved I counted a minimum of 4 people that could relate information in the 1st person from their own experiences. Again, that's not hearsay - in fact, we rely upon such evidence in courtrooms throughout the world. We need people to tell us what they saw, touched, heard, tasted, etc. That's how we find shit out.

I could swear this was explained before, but I can't bring myself to reread this thread again. Just get it straight please.
