There was a time when I would have said that subspace was just a state, and I needed a guide, in the form of a Dom, to guide me into and out of that state. It is very much an altered state of being, on par in my consideration with activities such as guided meditiations or spirit journeys.

Can you choose to enter these altered states without the assistance of a guide? Yes. Can you choose to leave these altered states without a guide. Yes.

Do you WANT to. That's the kicker, at least for me.

My opinion is this. I can't fly as high, or as far, or dare the double flip up there, if I'm having to watch the navigational controls the entire time. Maybe it's more like having a solid co-pilot than a guide. It's so much easier to relax and enjoy the flight if you're not responsible for all the details.

I'm not sure what YOU mean by "true subspace" but I know for me, I know that orgasm doesn't change the experience at all. I also know plenty of people who have had orgasms in subspace.

I disagree with your statement that you can only achieve one or the other ( or did I read it wrong? ) I have gone so far into space and the journey there was accompanied by multiple orgasms, each one helping to push me further and further. The more pain I feel, the more intense the pleasure.

seems your a Hans Meijer - http://www.powerotics.com fan.... and enjoyed his article of "What exactly is "subspace" and ... what is it not?"

It is likely the most misleading article I have seen to date........ what makes it so dangers it appears to be rooted in some sort of scientific fact and tries to present itself as an authority on the subject. ... when no such facts exist and no authority medical or otherwises exists. The article that gives rise to the opinion that orgasm and subspace can't happen in unison has been posted in a thread here in "ask a submissive" - I think the thread started as "what is subspace".

I know I can keep myself out of subspace, I've done that successfully
I imagine I can also drag myself back out of it as well, although I've never had to do that
and not sure I'd look forward to it at all!

and yes, I've enjoyed orgasms while in subspace
intensely pleasurable ones
and i too thought the article was bogus
but only have my own experiences to go on
*shrug*
don't really care if anyone else can do both
just happy I can, lol

Those who can control it by themselves are lucky lol. I can't control it myself, but the person I am with can control it for me. And coming down...no control there either unless my partner decides to take me back up again.

Well i'm sure that i could control it, but i've never tried. Why would i want to?! i live for a great flogging that puts me into sub space. It's such a great feeling. Now i'm sure that if i had to control it i could just move slightly and get flogged in an undesired area. LOL!! i dunno...i'm not pulling myself out anytime soon unless it was asked of me.

i have not as of yet reached subspace so i cannot answer the question directly..however.. I have been very close to slipping over the edge and Master always brings me back.
I ask Him why He does this and He said "You belong to Me , and i am not ready to take you there yet"..oh well .. guess i gotta accept that huh? (lol)

Well it sounds a great place to be. I only wish i had the opportunity to experience being in 'sub-space' but that day is a long way off for me yet. It sounds like a trance like state of total submission...cool. Lucky you in reply to all that go there
