I will only say that this question has taken on a life of its own and has spawn all host of answers ...many not directly pertaining to the question.
The question stemmed from the number of Mistresses that stated tribute was required if you were going to be involved with them. To many, the fantasy of money being part of the submission is importain to them. To others , when an amount of money is required up front, before play or personal involvement, they believe it is totally wrong or at least not for them. The answer is there is no black and white answer that makes everyone happy. There are professionals out her that offer services to persons who seek fullfillment and guidance but may not require the lenghty time involved with getting to know each other here. And in the long term, you have lifestylers who live this life to a greater fullness than what may be available to the other...

Why on earth does it say this on the message page?:

Note: Any messages involving Africa, Ghana, Nigeria, Singapore, wiring money, online
escrow services, or cashiers checks are scams and should be ignored. Be wary of
requests for your personal email address or money from people you just met.

I really dont see the point in saying that as half of it is the status quo here anyway. There are literally Tons of Dommes here who expect money to be wired to them online as well as people who expect money before youve even met them let alone 'people you just met'. escrow services? I can only assume that means escort services? Seeing as this is a BDSM site why would Vanilla Escorts come here? they dont! They must be reffering to people who spend time with you in a BDSM context in exchange for money and theres tons of that here too.

Then one may say that being paid for any service makes one a prostitute - and btw, there is nothing wrong with being a prostitute.

There's a scam out there regarding 'escrow' services in which someone will contact with an offer of, usually, hundreds of thousands of dollars which is being held in 'escrow' and all you do is pay the small 'fee' to release the funds. As soon as you send in the fee, they disappear and you're out the money.

Um, no.... Escrow services are a part of the financial services industry. They hold funds that can only be used to pay money owed to someone. Therefore, someone would tell you "we have money owed to you by x group, just send us $50 for expenses and you'll get $x". It's a scam that's not just here. As a member of the financial services industry, I've seen dozens of people get scammed this way.

would love to see a poll on this subject and cut through all this nonsense...it make it so much easy find out who think it's one way or the other and maybe settle this arguement once and for all...this thread is not really going anywhere...IMHO

It's all just rhetoric. And rhetoric, by it's very nature, never goes anywhere. It's just supposed to make you think.

There is no way to "settle" the argument. There will always be people who will charge for scening, and people who don't. There will always be people who will pay for scening, and people who won't. And there will always be people who complain about people who charge and people who pay.

It's really nobody's business except the Pro's and their customers. The rest of us are just keeping the thread going.

Phoenix

Very well put Phoenix.
