This morning I went through my "favorites" list and clicked on each profile. Most have not visited this site in months; those were deleted. What pleased me were the ones who had added a note to their profile stating that they had found what they were looking for. Most however just have disappeared from the site.
I have developed a system of determining if someone is really interested in meeting RT though. It starts with a nice note. If they reply, I request that they add me to their yahoo messenger. If we "click" on yahoo, I request a very vanilla meeting; usually at a deli for lunch. It is brief so any discomfort is short lived and we can either set a date for another meeting or just be happy we shared a good meal.
When I first signed on to this site, I was surprised at how many people on here who I already knew in RT. Very encouraging.
I finally did meet someone new from this site who was very real and I clicked with; livvy252003. Thank you collarme.
I also directed my little girl to this site so she could read some of the forums and gain some insight into the scene, besides the narrow view she gets from serving me...she is Masterslilgirl on here.
It took me over a year to have success; so don't get discouraged folks.

im not really sure how to reply to this topic, it seemed to be supporting people in search of a partner via online...so..what worked for me is

1. i wasnt seeking at all, Master found me. Maybe that means slave and subbie types should just relax, make friends and go with the flow.
2. Master was actively seeking a new slave and made this known very clearly.

Somehow it happened and here we are today *s*

You request they add you to yahoo messenger. Pmsl. Thats bought a smile to my face at cm.

I know myself and plenty of other people keep their IM clients for only people they have talked to for awhile. If someone insisted I add them to their messenger after speaking once, id laugh in their face.

Im sure others will agree.

Yup Imtempting I'm with you on this one...
I've gotten many a request, some in the first email, some the second
or thrid for chat on IM of some sort. Some disapear some stick around
after i politely say "too soon". The one's doing the vanishing act I
chalk up to no great loss, those that stay around more often then
not stay keepers.

I save im'ing for people I really want to get to know. Otherwise it's too intrusive. I know you can block, and go invisible, but if I add you, that means I really want to be conversing.

Yeah, well hey, don't laugh all you guys, I just got this email from a bunch of girls in Ghana, requesting an instant meeting on Yahoo chat, they have to work quick it seems, since it costs them 20 dollars an hour to do use the internet at the cafes they are at, and they are dead broke, so anyway after just a couple minutes of chat, they all became my slaves and I just sent off a check for 15,000 dollars for their airfare, and they will be joining me before the end of the month. See how it works out?

me personally i agree with the statement , im certainly not going to chat weeks just in collar me without speaking by phone or meeting , its ludicrous.

Pretty much the same with me. Anyone who asks for my messenger ID's after one email, gets a very polite but firm, no and good bye.

I agree with only adding someone on messenger after i have got to know them. I am just in the process of politely telling someone this and he has just replied back saying, if and when i am ready to chat to him on messenger let him know, until then he does not want to talk to me.....lol

This is right up there with those who demand i call them ASAP after reading 1 email, and frequently with their profile full of holes. Now i realize that by giving me their phone number they're showing a certain amount trust (i think), but i know lots of people who have caller id, so they'd also be able to get my number. i don't give out my number unless i'm really, really sure we're going to meet, and then it's just my cell in case i get lost (a rather frequent happening..lol).

For me it's all very individual. If after a first message i feel a strong interest in getting to know the person then i'll give them my yahoo i.d., but if they try to add me before even im'ing me it will automatically deny them and then that weeds out a few who get pissy because of that. If we chat and i still want to get to know them more i'll let them add me but if i'm not sure then i ask them to write my i.d. down and message me again some other time but please not to add me to their list. Most times though i let them know that i'd like to get to know them on cm a bit more before taking it to messenger.

I must be doing something wrong.... I rarely get emails, no one pm's me throwing themselves at my feet... hell, the only real nibble I've had since joining this sight was a gay sub looking for sexual use, and my profile CLEARLY states I'm straight and I would only be interested in a service slave, not a sexual one... *shakes his head* Go figure!

And I rarely bother to turn YIM or ICQ on. I have too much real life going on now that OL chat would just take away from it. But if someone wants to talk seriously about becoming a beta for a house/yard slave position... I'll turn it on!

Now if only I could those nibbles!

I had someone try this approach with me. It took 3 profiles for him to start acting like an adult and realize that I really meant no I won't and piss off

OK, some more good news, my girls called collect from Ghana, and they are so excited to see me cuz of my check, one girl who calls herself Mustapha, says that I am gonna be surprised.......heh, I doubt that, cuz I am a True Dom. So all you people who give me this hard luck story about how you want and actually have to work to get it and make mistakes can just kiss my ass.
