ive started this response post about 6 times and deleted each one. Here comes my 7th attempt.

i enjoy pain when inflicted by Master because:

1. Its a physical, emotional and mental way to really submit to Master desires. i wouldnt deliberately go out and do something that was gonna cause me pain. Like i wouldnt go out to the shed and hit my thumb with a hammer on purpose. I wouldnt ask someone in the street to kick me in the stomach. However, when a Master says " I'm gonna gonna cane you now, undress and submit" or something like that...it is a real acting out of submission. Like a slave/sub could always say "no" but we dont..cuz we desire to submit and surrender to the will of our Masters/Dominants...but as well functioning human beings that option to say "no" is always there.

Also, for Master to demand that, ask that of me, it is Him sharing His desire to Dominate me. It makes me feel wanted and needed. It makes me feel that i can please Him that He would ask that of me. It lets me see and experience He has a desire for me that He would play with me. THis makes my little slave heart soar.

2. It allows me to feel his physical, emotional and mental strength. Like any man can beat up on a woman...but in a Master/slave relationship, the Master is doing it purposefully, not because of lack of skills but because He has skills..if that makes sense.

3. When i am in a certain space, and i dont know what terminology to use for it...but when im in that space....sometimes i can crave strong sensation..really strong sensation...its like...i need His touch so badly..and intensely..its like every cell in my body wants/needs to be touched..its like a craving for communion or something..and the intensity of the touch has to correlate with my desire for it..which can be pretty damn strong.

4. Somestimes i like it for the pure stress release aspect of it.

The same question could be asked in reverse... why does a Sadist enjoy inflicting pain? What motivates them to do it?

To try and answer your question…

My Lord does not use pain for punishment. Pain is reserved for play and sex. What results are there in punishing a masochist with pain?

I prefer my sis’s view of play. She does not see herself as a pain slut, though anyone watching my Lord play her with a cane would say, definite pain slut. She likes to say that she enjoys intense sensations. She does not process the sensations of a cane as pain. There are many sensations that for me are not painful, they are just intense, take your breath away... My most favorite sensation to date is from zippers. My Lord has only done them on my breasts and the sensation was exquisite, I could barely breathe. There are other sensations that are just all pain and I would prefer not to feel them, but then that would remove some of the pleasure that my Lord receives in play since he is a sadist.

Intense sensations make me feel powerful, mentally, emotionally and physically. To have the strength to just let go and allow my Lord to use me as he will. So as other’s have said, it is about the surrender, but rather than feeling weakened from it, I feel more powerful.

(and yes i thought this was a VERY important fact everyone need to know, so i am notifing!)

The whole aspect of the mind running the body and being able to successfully block out the extreme physical sensation that pain brings, is something I am seriously intrigued by.

I find that certain types of extreme pain are the closest thing to being in the grasp of the unknown. Now that's not to say that I don't like the physical sensation that pain brings { The burn from the preacher curl after the last set is a phenomenal feeling}, but the challenge and fear of overcoming the unknown are the epitome of a great endorphin rush.

M. Dave-

I sugest some self examination- particually a close parsing of the statement above- might help you answer your question.

in my view of this stuff, the above statement is incorrect. Correctly stated, it would either read; "...as a Dom (or top), I know that inflicting pain to train, discipline, punish, and have intense interactions (that lead sex and making up...) is a lot of fun..." or ... as a sadist, I like to hurt women- it makes me hard...".

This is, of course, my own personal intepertation of the terms and situtations we encouter. However, my experiance leads me to be suspect of the terms we use when we talk about this stuff. You seem to be using 'Dom' and 'Sub' as interchangeable with Sadist and Masochist, which is not always the case.

As to words of wisdom, there are a number of reasons a submissive might have for accepting pain...

they might be a masochist-
they might enjoy the ancillary sensations (eg the afterburn/tingle of it)
thay might take satisfaction from being the object of your attentions
they might take satisaction from the service aspect of it
they may find a sense of release from some vauge sense of guilt
they might enjoy the feeling of suffering for you
they might simply endure it to please you

And there are, no doubt, as many answers as there are bottoms out there...

i've always figured it was just the way i was wired, with some partners knowing how to flip "that switch" better than others did. i'm not sure there is a why to it, or if so, if it's all that important.
