I totally agree with this! I'm in love with my Dom and plan to live with him in 4 months. It would be very easy to just be blissful in our love and excitement for our D/s life to begin and not to consider the future. But, that is foolish and could end up being very damaging. this girl decided not to settle for the first offer even tho it was a wonderful one.she needed to be more than 'just casual play' or pleasure. Granted everyone has a starting point and perhaps some valuable lessons into her insight and needs were being met in some areas, something was missing from the equation.since the decision yesterday this girl's gut is at peace. reading alot of the input on new relationships and expectations in the forums put some things into perspective as to different types of Masters and Doms and some life/death occurances that went on over the weekend w/ a relative, helped this girl to realize some things w/in herself.

I notice some comments that essentially say give it a try, you can always change your mind later. While I understand this attitude with casual play partners or even a more long term defined arrangement, I do not understand it when referring to a 24/7 TPE with "Master."

Am I just hung up on words?

When you enter into that type of arrangement, is there not a presumption of complete commitment for the long term?

Does it just vary so much between people that I should give up trying to understand the dynamics of the terminology?
