Arcain,
If you try to formulate something that "people want to hear", you'll never hear from them. Better to let them know what about their profile interested you. Why did you feel compelled to send a message? How to you compliment their desire. Start by just telling the truth, don't be afraid to expose a bit of yourself, (emotionally mentally, not a necessarily a full frontal nude pic!) and you'll have a better chance of getting a response.

I don't want someone to tell me what they I want to hear. I'd rather have someone be honest and truthful about who they are, their needs, desires and goals. Too many try to blow smoke up my butt.
