There are a lot of people on this site who seem to lack both manners and knowledge. I've been offended more times than I care to count. All I can tell you is, consider the source. And don't let people of that ilk disturb your sense of self and worth.

There is as much value in a well served cup of tea as in an hour on the rack. If he feels that you're too old to be a slave, what possible difference could that make to you? You don't know him. You don't respect him. And, most importantly, you don't serve him.

I'm 36 and became slave at 32.... I was told I was 'too old to train' as well yet my Master seems to have done a good job!!

Age IS irrelevent.

I may not have been around that long, but I certainly have been long enough to know that age at least SHOULDN'T matter. I've known twenty year olds that have lived more and learned more in half their life than some sixty year olds have in the entire span of theirs.... and, of course, vice versa. Age is nothing but a number, and it's a shame that people use it as a point of bias.

I concur. It would be a pitty to even think of silencing anyone irrespective of their age group. As NakedOnMyChain has commented, there are those in the younger age brackets who have seen more of life and have a mature outlook than many 60 years olds. War has shown this. So many of the youth who survived 'Nam were such people. And yes many of us Older farts do have the tendency to disgard the comments or views of the young.. In the final analysis it is valuable for the views of any age group to be taken seriously, for them to, in this case, state who they say age doesn't matter, or conversly, age does matter.

I agree with IronBear...people cant hurt you unless you let them. I get plenty of mean messages on here because im owned and still on here......they say i dont belong here. I really dont care what they think and just delete and move on. If I had given up on this lifestyle and this site I wouldnt have met my Dom and I wouldnt be enjoying serving. So let it go....delete it and the ones you will surely get later on and move on to the serious inquires.

Normally I agree with you, IronBear, but this post doesn't make much sense. I'm instantly allergic to "such-and-such requires the wisdom of age to appreciate" arguments. Not everyone who is old is wise; not everyone who is young is unwise; and not everyone who is wise will agree with the views that others attribute to the wise. Wise people believe all kinds of different things.

Second, if your example is going to be playing football or shooting a pistol, then obviously age matters. "Age matters only as much as you let it" doesn't cut it. Ask a general manager of a sports team whether he'd rather have a 20-year-old superstar or a 47-year-old superstar who thinks his age won't matter as long as he just doesn't let it matter. I thought you were going to give examples like virtue, love, honesty, integrity--those are examples where you'd have a better chance of convincing people that age doesn't matter. Physical activity happens to be one of the areas where age matters more than almost anything else.

Age matters, and blaming people for choosing not to have a sexual relationship with someone of a certain age--we've heard a lot of that on this thread--is just childish. People have a right to their preferences. I'll give an example: I am not attracted to 19-year-olds. I'm not prejudiced against 19-year-olds: I think they should have equal protection under the law; I usually defend them when others move in with the patronizing "you're too young to understand this" or "you think that way because you're too young to know otherwise" bullshit; and I often hear 19-year-olds say some very interesting things. But that doesn't mean I want a sexual relationship with a 19-year-old. I'd say the same is just as reasonable for someone who doesn't want a relationship with people in their 60's.

Fair comment LaM. I tend to use the examples of which I am personally familiar with I used the football and shooting is an example for the same reason as you did.. in areas which is very subjective to age. It was an example where with the right application, age doesn't necessarily have to be a barrier as long as you have the smarts to adjust to what restrictions your age places on you physically. My shooting is not and never has beed sports based. I've never been interested in that aspect, mine is based on real combat conditions and its just pride and ego that keeps me training after I've retired... (me proving myself to me, no one else). Oh the humerous side, that last football match I played was the season end.. I scored the only TD in my career and when hit by a tackle, went sky high and landed on the ball busting three ribs and two knees dug into astroturk .. I remember bellowing that I wasted eiither Morphine or Pethadine... two wrecked knees and no more football or running for a year.... I knew that age had caught up and it was time to forget about football.........

Virtue, love, honesty, integrity and chivalry .... Y'know mate, I never gave them a thought. I've been involved with them all my life and to me it's what you develope in the home as a kid and refine as your grow older.. Yep I know that there a many who dont have them.

In many cases I simply refuse to recognise age as a barrier. To me it's about values. I'm married to a lady 30 years my junior, had an 18 year old slave in a collar for three years. Not trophies, not my style, its about the personal dynamice with each person. personally regarding my home and "family" it is about building dynamics which foster growth as a family and personal growth so each person can be the best they can be without altering the Gorean dynamic. So under these circumstances age really is not a question except for practicalities and health.

I'm glad you brought this up, I'm the worst offender for writing and forgetting that those who read what I write dont know me, or the way I think or do things.

I agree, Lam. People are entitled to their preferences. Goddess knows I have mine. However, I think that their preferences should stop short of sending unsolicited and often hurtful e-mails. Opinions are fine. Harassment isn't. Surely we all have a place on this site.

NakedOnMyChain hits the main point exactly. How age matters depends on many things and all different for each individual. If someone isn't looking for an individual of a certain age, race, religion, etc. why email them at all? Likewise, if someone is very involved in edge play, why write to someone who clearly states they aren't? It is mind boggling why anyone feels a need to send a personal email to someone just to tell them "I'm not interested in you" when they have had no contact from the boards.

boy ui can totally relate, although i have not had that happen to me yet. i have been in a v/t relationship on GOr, yes purely fantasy of course...like some of them arnt at least in their 70s on viagra jerking off at the comp>>>LAMAO.

I am very nervouse that no one will want me either since i am no longer that size 7 18 year old i was before. im lucky though i have height so i can hide some baggage...lamao, although not much.EFG.
But what i am learning, from being on these boards in just one or two days...wow.........lol, is that it really does not matter to a LOT of Doms about age or weight.
I have seen some subs on here who outweigh me by a hundred pounds at least, but they are beautiful and brave, and have very sucessful relationships with Doms,
My biggest fear is that by the time i actually FIND a Dom i would be too old.
I was thinking at Your age i would be,

Libby is ... well, not young, but when I "buy the big one" I think you could safely predict that there would be a line of potential partners around the block.
