I think i need to stop posting. I'm "indecent", and I kinda LIKE that label. I don't know that I want to lose it when the numbers go up. What a dilema!

I have this tattooed on my inner wrist, in traditional colors of black/silver. mine is wrapped with an outter area that is a mixture of black white and gray to make a silver color .. it represents chain. For the bonds that are formed in a D/s relationship. The three areas within represent safe,sane,consentual as well as BD SM D/s, theholes in the center of each reminds us of completion, as a reminder that *I* am not complete in my relationships without another.

This actually become somewhat of a "mascot" if you will for the BDSM community. To most vanilla at a quick glance they see it as a yin yang, if I am asked about it, I tell them it is a power wheel. I am never asked by those in the lifestyle, so it is an identifier.

Mine is custom made and a bit larger than a quarter, we had considered useing it here, but it did not work out. I have had mine for a few years now , here is a pic. It should be noted the holes in the emblem are flesh tone, as we added no color there, even while they appear colored in this photo, flash thing I guess :)

M. Angelika - those symbols are representations of 'the BDSM emblem' - supposed to show the trifold nature of the lifestyle - B&D, D&S, S&M - it is usually shown with the outline and 'Y' shaped swirl in silver or pewter colour, the 'yin yang' portion in black, and the little dots in red - has been incorporated into jewelry, stickers, temporary tattoos, etc. - there is a website Emblem Home Page with more information - I have a ring made of sterling silver (purchased from the site) with the 'yin yang' parts in black and holes for the dots that I wear (left hand, natch) as a subtle indicator to others in the lifestyle that I, too, participate and selfidentify as a dominant

Actually you gave me more detail ;) Thanks all.

It's funny though, I've been doing some sort of BDSM or another for the last 13 years but I never really got into a scene or community. I guess I was just lucky in that I attracted kinky people.

So a lot of these things like emblems and such are all foreign stuff to me. It's neat to learn about them all.

Before I ran across the Emblem Project, I was wearing a leather bracer on my left forearm to indicate my lifestyle affiliation - the ring is just a bit more discreet for use in more vanilla settings - I also was in the lifestyle for over 10 years before found any type of community - it just didn't exist where I live, but has started to become more prevalent in the past couple of years - we finally have a munch group going locally (no more 2 hour drives to attend a munch YAYYYYYYY)
