I am very new with computers, I was wondering were spell check is on my computer. If I had known I would have already used it. It is a little embarrassing.

And for that reason I do not join boards that allow male, female, or dominant *supiority*. In the art of conversation and debate (which is the goal of this forum), I do not believe myself to be beneath anyone.

Bravo to you for being so clear on what you do and don't wish to participate in.

I also agree with your statement that, in the art of conversation and debate, you do not believe yourself to be beneath anyone; but then, I think all are on equal footing anyway and which end of the whip you are on isn't really a factor in determining how to interact with someone. Not until both people have agreed to take specific roles with each other.

I will absolutely second that "Bravo"! That really says it all right there. I absolutely agree with MizSuz that no one is beneath anyone else until they have agreed to those specific roles with one another. However, on the subject of spelling and spell checking. I believe we could all take a moment and go over a post to perhaps make sure it is readable and understandable. We're going to forget to dot the occasional i, put a period somewhere, or (oh my my!) put a comma instead of a semi colon somewhere.

If I can't make it through the first sentence, I'm going to skip the post and go on to the next one. It's that simple.

As a person who suffers from ADD and other learning disabilities.. I try hard to do the best I can because I do have opinions I wish to share. I get annoyed with constantly having to spell check all my work honestly it makes me feel like an idiot. I also tend to write in either long run on sentences or in simple short ones. I do, however, need to leave a written document for at least several minutes then go back to it inorder to make sure that I have organized my thoughts clearly. That I have, in my opinion, expressed what I was trying to say in an effective manner. Writing is a tedious chore for me and there are times takes more effort and concentration than my busy life allows so I rip one off and leave it. Generally what happens is some Grammar Gustapo bites me in the arse. Oh well.. c'est la vie... It is my hope that people look at what is being said and find it is of use despite my lack of finesse. If not at least it helps me crystalize in my own mind what I believe... and thats a good thing.

Sylverdawn,

I've never had difficulty understanding you. That's the killer for me, not whether everything is spelled correctly or the comma is in the right place.

I completely agree with Lady Beckett. If it's too difficult to get through then I won't bother.

I have never had any trouble discerning coherent thought from your posts, at all.
