LIFE is: different stages, from newborn to geriatric (if not killed off in middle age) each stage has its joys and sorrows and the object of the process is to learn; to crawl; to run; to attend school; to achieve economic independence from your parents; choosing among the rewards available: children, marriage, career, accolades, etc.; being striped naked as a retiree; finding one's feet again and giving back to one's community; dying with dignity. LIFE is: followed by an encounter with the face of God, seeing yourself clearly as you lived your life...and either spending eternity in God's presence or being deprived forever of that experience. LIFE is: providing for and protecting your child; imparting your values to your child; praying constantly for her safety and well-being and happiness; moving from one motherly stage to another; ending up friends with your adult child; getting grandchildren if blessed; a love that transcends everything and a series of blessings from God in the form of the joys of motherhood. LIFE is: the joys and sorrows of engaging with other people; one's family; one's friends; and one's lovers/husbands?Doms/Masters. The choice of an open heart brings great joy but some sorrow as well...yet it is an instinctively correct way to live. LIFE is: surviving sorrow/loss/helplessness....experiencing transcendent joy at the ocean's edge or watching the Northern Lights....knowing God's love and protection and always striving (but never succeeding) in maintaining a state of grace. pinkpleasures
