Some of us (such as myself) like "the same damn faces"
I know some of their background and where they are coming from. I am not against new members, but I am wondering why you feel that there needs to be tons of new people here.

I think you are referring to people who post in the message boards, since the number of new arrivals in the profiles side is, and has been, robust.

Yes, I agree that it would be nice to have more people speak up in these forums. The same old cast of regulars are a good bunch but its nice to have new faces too.

I try to encourage new arrivals to participate in the message boards. May I ask what you are doing to increase participation? (since you only have 5 messages to your credit).

I just let message boards life out their lives naturally. On any board you will find a few chunks of regulars who you see everywhere, a few handfuls of occasionals who post here and there, a bunch of single hitters who you see on a rare occasion and a HUGE number of lurkers who just read and watch and look.

If a board goes stale, with not enough new perspectives to churn in the waters, then things are ugly and boring. However, group lists have a tendency to self-regulate with enough people "getting fed up and leaving" or losing interest or life issues getting in the way, and enough newbies flowing in that if things start to get messy, it will pass and be normal again.

SO yay new people, yay regulars, and lurkers post more!

getting ppl to join CM is easy.

getting them to activly participate can be a bit of a challenge if not rare. Many have 0 interest with the message boards or perhaps fear of being attacked when making a post/reply. Many just like profiles and maybe some chat and there's the games. You're just going to have to take what you get.

Yes, this is a good forum and I'll be the first to admit that I don't post nearly as often as I should. Good for you for prodding the community.

I think lots post, from regulars to one post ones. I happened to be reading some old threads from months ago and the majority of people posting then arent posting now. So obviously it changes who posts

You've been a member since February of 2004 and you only have 5 posts here? It sounds like you're part of the problem.

No idea where to find the stats but is collarme not up around 100,000 people and growing?
That's a lot of people if you ask me. Try getting them all in your house.
Why complain when the numbers are so rich already?

I agree with siamsa24.. I happen to like the "old" faces here. I have come to consider many of them friends.

WOW, 152000 people and no one can connect.
I wonder how many duplicate profiles, and percentage of online wankers, lol. M

WOW...lol. I knew this would spark a debate. First of all, I get plenty of requests here. Second, here in California, I keep seeing the same faces on the regular site...nothing new. As for the post here on the board, I just wanted to get a topic started... As for those shit talkers to me, you where to take that noise!

much love to everyone else...
