So I take it you admire Churchhill? S'kay, me too. I recall a story about a discussion he with a woman regarding morality, selling out your values and prostitution. The woman made some remark about how she, being a moral woman would never do such a thing. So Winston Churchill asked "Madam, would you sleep with me for $5?" She was appalled, "Certainly not!" So he then asked, "Madam, would sleep with me for a million dollars." The woman paused, "I don't know... I'd have to think about it, that's a lot of money." To which he replied, "So then you are a whore, we're merely quibling over price."

Here's another poem I enjoy in the same vein as your quotes.

Invictus (William Earnest Hensley)

My favorite example of power exchange from literature is by Shakespeare in Taming of the Shrew:

i love Khalil Gibran.. this would have my choice as well, perfect! both the one on love and pain.. "so you must know pain".. i think love and pain can be our beauty.
