Well i just added a new thing to the exercise routine. Back stretching. Anyone seen those porno's with the girls backs bent? Well heck, i never knew a back could bend like that, so i'm working on stretching the muscles. So it led me to curiousity. What exercise routines do you all do to keep yourselves trim and fit for your Master/Mistress'?

nonuts4thshoney -> RE: Exercise (6/19/2005 12:47:39 PM)

I dont have much of a routine but I do work on my abs alot because I want to keep a flat stomache. I do alot of crunches and I will also do a twist to each side motion while standing. I keep my hips facing the front and only turn my upper body from side to side. This seems to keep my tummy tone. I've been doing it for years though. and LOL..I walk in place too. It's easy to do around the house if you have some free time or even to do it while tending to some household chores. So yeah, all I do is work on my tummy and walk in place.

Some other things that you could do too, and this will sound silly, is to do lunges while you vacuum. It's good for the booty.

wetsub000 -> RE: Exercise (6/19/2005 2:25:16 PM)

As I'm getting older and stiffer I've added a lot more stretching exercises to try and keep myself supple. At the moment I'm working on getting my shoulders more flexible for when my arms are tied behind my back. Helps when someone wants to tie me up [;)]

nonuts4thshoney -> RE: Exercise (6/19/2005 2:45:13 PM)

I've actually thought about learning Yoga to get into shape. It would also make me more flexible. It may be something that my master would approve of me learning. And I know that you can buy the home videos to learn as opposed to taking classes.

stormsfate -> RE: Exercise (6/19/2005 3:25:05 PM)

Well, I haven't been in at least six months, but for the past two years prior to that, I spent 5 to 6 days a week in the gym every morning from 5:30 to 7:30. My schedule was lifting, then cardio, and then swimming as a cool down. Its definately effective and when you stop doing it, it shows you just how effective it was. I tried PiYo once, but even though I considered myself fit...I wasn't *that* fit apparently...lol. I found muscles I never knew I had!

Now that I'm not working downtown anymore, my owner hasn't yet decided whether or not to bring in the equipment or to get me a membership to the Gold's gym just around the corner. I hope it happens soon either way, because I've really gone to pot!

best regards,
f

FelinePersuasion -> RE: Exercise (6/19/2005 10:20:09 PM)

Actually, if you have a bad back Vacuuming can agrivate it. You're not supposed to push out pull in push out, you're supposed to follow the vacuume, if that makes any sense.

Also some of those crunch exorcises are incomplete if you don't do them just so, and again if you have back problems crunches are bad.

siamsa24 -> RE: Exercise (6/19/2005 10:26:01 PM)

In the summer I run and lift (light weight and lots of reps), but in the winter I have a better routine. I run 3 times a week, lift 3 times a week, swim 4 times a week, train in my martial arts daily and I try to fit in some yoga and pilates, but it does not always fit in.

And FelinePersuasion is right about crunches being very hard on your back, there is a specific way you have to do them. My advice would be to ask a trainer or someone you know can do them properly to show you and to teach you. It takes practice and it hurts like hell at first, but after a while you get used to it.

simpleprop -> RE: Exercise (6/19/2005 10:54:36 PM)

Besides running around outside with the children [:D] i do about an hour of Yoga a day (1/2 hour in the morning and 1/2 hour at night). i used to be a dancer (ballet) but after i torn the ligament in my knee i lost my flexability. my doctor recommended Yoga to increase flexability and for relaxation (i know sounds silly, but it's wonderful). Master is VERY happy with the increase in flexability too. [:D] Now that the weather is warmer we also take evening walks around the neighborhood. That's about it.

i've been thinking of getting a belly dancing video. It is supposed to tone the tummy, but i also thought it would be something good to learn.

i'm a student and took a weight training class as one of my PE's. It really taught me a lot. Now i work out about 3 times a week at the college gym, riding bikes and lifting weights. i had a good reason, i saw my mom naked one day and decided i didn't want that to be me in another 20 years.

Good luck to all,
Silk

I bought one of those about a year and a half ago. I couldn't believe it! Talk about finding muscles you didn't know existed. I thought it was a joke, but would be a lot of fun, but it really is good exercise. I don't use mine anymore, but if I can find it, you are welcome to it. Its VHS though, and not DVD.

I don't consider myself trim, although I never have. I have a lot of muscles on me...some fat. I work out harder than the trainers can push me. So, I don't use them anymore.

Essentially I try to get into the gym at least 3 days a week. Mostly for health reasons. I have two bad knees...because my butt muscles are severely overdeveloped. Muscle around your butt...goes down your leg and wraps around your kneecap. Muscles pull. So, both kneecaps are off center by 1.5 inches.
I usually do about 30 minutes of cardio. Then some inner thigh exercises....machine goes up to 400 pounds and it isn't nearly enough anymore. I'm going to have to figure out some alternative lifting methods here shortly.
My upper body is not nearly as developed as my lower. Need to work on it.

Walk the dog every other day at least a 2 mile walk. I live on a hill so I can feel my calves burning when we walk.

Aside from that...not a lot. Other than a weekend hike when we can get it in.

Hissweetshiv -> RE: Exercise (6/27/2005 5:12:35 PM)

I don't do a whole lot to stay in shape-walking and housework ... i'm healthy and that's really all that matters to Master or to myself. I do have a word of warning about the belly dancing video - i bought one thinking it was "learning belly dancing to keep fit" and was horribly disappointed. It's a workout video to bellydancing music that happens to use the movements from belly dancing, one at a time. Just so you're aware (if you weren't already).

fourpeas -> RE: Exercise (6/27/2005 6:01:50 PM)

My dom wants me to do belly dancing too... ha ha ha...

The reality is that I live in Jersey and work in NYC, so between walking everywhere and running up and down about 20 flights of stairs per day, I think so far, so good. And walking the dog. I'm a dancer as well and I'm trying to get back into dancing shape too, however.

Arrrr... lack of finances does bad things to your fitness sometimes!!! And also the more often I see the Man with the Plan, I get in better shape if you know what I mean, kids....[;)][:D]

Mylee -> RE: Exercise (6/27/2005 6:44:24 PM)

Belly dancing is a GREAT way to find muscles you didnt know you had and will also help you with that back bend mentioned earlier, there are a few really good video's out there Neena and Veena belly dance fitness for beginners is really good, it gives you all the basic movements you will need to have down for actual dance,(though is NOT a dance rutine, is a work out) it has a series of chest lifts and drops, it teaches you step by step how to do a great eqyptian undulation, by thrusting your ribs out then up then back and down, also it shows you all the basic hip movements the hip lifts and drops and teaches you the two different ways to shimmy as well I believe (havent used it in about three years)

there is also the 'goddess workout' this one is Ok, the camera angels arnt so great and the steps arnt quite as easy to follow for a newbie to the dance, but it does include a bit more serenety to it's work out

also too, the belly dance community is growing nation wide, I'm guessing a lot of you have belly dancing classes offered and you may not even know it

I fell in love with belly dance years agio and I just cant stop myself from dance dance dancing !

Good luck finding classes

I had to laugh at this. When i first met my Sir, he kept saying, arch your back more. That flat shape to my spine, was my back arched! lol.

Posturing for a Dom is something best started at say 6 yrs of age, not 41 for fucks sake!

A friend of mine attending yoga for the first time ever. She is the most unhealthy person a couch potatoe most of the time, but a few months ago, after 6 weeks of attending yoga, we went out on a girlie night, got pissed and she ended up pole dancing. I was amazed at how supple and 'bendy' she'd become in just 6 weeks.

My personal training plan: to be used by Him regularly. The more he works me, the stronger and fitter i become. It takes two to tango. And much more fun than any class ive attended.

Though im signing up for lap dancing classes to give him a birthday suprise. Do a google for classes near you.

My only experience of yoga was at the back of a class, watching some poor womans stress incontinence stain her leotard right in front of me - never again!

I'm doing it for me and my own agility and stamina... as I *am* the Mistress, but I cycle a lot. Makes for awesomely strong calves and thighs which is fantastic for riding a boy for hours and not letting him cum <weg>.

I also have recently started strength training in my upper body and that helps a lot in general, especially since the guys I tend to domme are in the 180lb+ range and muscular. It helps with pulling/pushing them around.

Pilates and yoga also help for form and will enable you to do that back bending technique perhaps. Trust me, you can get it at the most wonderful angle that way ;)

Golf (walking), mowing (we live on acreage), resistance training, and treadmill on non-golf, non-mowing days. I wear a pedometer most of the time and try to get in 10k-20k steps a day. It's amazing how much more i move when i wear it. I find myself pacing instead of standing still when waiting for something.[:)]

i should get one of those. i like to walk more than anything else. Having one of those on would probably encourage to me walk even more.

magiqnapa -> RE: Exercise (6/29/2005 9:46:09 AM)

I run six to eight miles a day to keep in shape. Not just to please my new Master, but I like to take pride in my body (and I know he does) and need to keep on top of it for my job (fetish modeling). I also LOVE the endorphine rush it gives me. Of course, the "work-out" he gives me after six or eight hours doesn't hurt.....Also, due to my job, walking around in "do me Heels" for a six hour photo shoot is guaranteed to make your legs hurt like hell the next day, so it helps with that also. If your Master likes to see you wear that type of shoes with your nylons, running or walking fast around the block a bit will help you survive it. Any type of exercise is beneficial though. Lots of people can only walk instead of run, or do yoga because they can't do high impact....you need to listen to your body and only do what is good for you.
