There is a lot on the web about lactation for adoptive mothers and ways to help mothers bring in more milk. Do a google search on relactation, induced lactation or adoptive mother lactation. I read something interesting not too far back.. http://www.lact-aid.com/lastory.htm#induced_lact They mention a book also in the article, Womanly Art of Breastfeeding by La Leche League. I understand this book has a lot of good information on the subject of lactation in general as well as specifics on induced lactation. Pop over to Barnes & Noble and check it out. It is commonly carried by bookstores. I also have a link to a forum.. http://www.asklenore.info/ubbthreads/postlist.php?Cat=&Board=natural_methods The forum description is "This forum is for Adoptive Breastfeeding Moms, Intended Moms, Relactating Moms, and Moms breastfeeding after breast reduction surgery, to discuss Natural interventions and physiological techniques to help them to build their milk supplies while fostering a pleasant and rewarding relationship with their infants. This includes herbal remedies, pumping and support. For more information on induced lactation visit the Ask Lenore Message Boards or the Adoptive Breastfeeding Resource Website." Good Luck, and always consider that because something works fine for others doesn't mean it is safe for you.
