Is that the one with the robot that stands still by the saucer? With the thing that moves back and forth where his eyes should be?

Damn, i had nightmares of that dude following me when i was a little kid. One of those "real" nightmares. Yikes!

I saw the film, for the first time, at a full-sized single-screen theatre in Independence, MO, just a few years ago. It was the highlight of a science fiction film festival, and they had the Army armoured vehicles out in front, shooting them off with smoky blanks, and a full size Gort. After, there was a panel dicussion that included Billy Gray.

Just thinking about it again brings a smile to my face. Thanks.

and of course, the three command words also make an appearance in the cult classic Army of Darkness ;)

He he he... one of my favorite scenes in that film.

A campy bit of a stinker, but still a heck of alot of fun to watch.

Actually at the end of the short story, the woman asks the robot, "What will you do now that your master is dead."

The robot replies "What makes you think he was my master."

As in the vast majority of the cases, the written word proves to be better and more subtle than the filmed result
