i am not looking forward to the post which will label me as a newbie!

It reminds me of the days when i was brand new to computers and the internet. It was a time when i did not know what an ISP, a browser, or an AV was. i struggled to learn the terms, lol, lmao, roflmao, btw, yw, ty, imho, btw, brb, bbiab, ttyl, etc. etc. i HATED being a newbie. It was a time when my compaq presario and my netzero screamed and cussed in an effort to learn to work & play together nicely. It was a very bad time for me... torturous even.

i went from vanilla to curious and NOW will be a newbie... again?!!? ewwww... This BDMS stuff is so hard to endure!

Seriously though, i can see how vanilla, curious, & corrupt are applicable as labels for members of the collarme forums, and i just don't like the 'newbie' label.

Maybe it can be omitted and changed to 'stepping out' or perhaps 'beyond curious' or 'vanilla twist' or just 'twisted' or maybe even 'curiously twisted' or .... KNEWBIE! (newbie is so suggestive of knowing hardly anything at all... yet the term knewbie denotes that one is learning.).

There was a period of about an hour, awhile back, when the CM Admin fooled around with the titles. He/she labeled the first posting level "clueless"-- not vanilla. I think it was Topcat who said the clueless label was too mean, and clueless was discarded.

It was a lot of fun watching the titles change and evolve. As I recall, the title "Deviant" was suggested by Topcat during that hour, too (instead of Perverted).

Anyway, I guess my point is--there are worse labels than newbie!

well, I am sure if your knickers are seriously twisted about this, the mods could make the vanilla appellation sticky until you have reached the 101 posts required to become (forgot the name of the one handcuff posters)

please note the above was meant entirely in jest, I am in a weird mood today and tending towards the somewhat sarcastic

nods knowingly at January i think that occured prior to my joining collarme, but sounds like it was a fun time... sorry i missed it all. No doubt there are worse things one might be called.. i am certain. My favorite in regard to name calling which i toss out at people behind the wheel who obviously don't belong there is 'goofy ass bitch'. It just feels good. No matter if they are not female.. i always feel better afterwards.

giggles in amusement at ThanatosianNope.. i am quite certain that they are not in a bunch. .o0(i KNOW they are not because i checked.) i would not care for a sticky vanilla appellation (sounds kind of messy to me) as it is no doubt as poor of a fit as the newbie label. Jest was noted as such, no offence taken. Weird moods help keep the boards interesting IMHO.

nods hello to smile2cu taking note of what a nice smile he has i don't think there is enough room for that in this closet here.

i've always thought kinky to be an odd label as well. i think it is due to all the clients at work who want their hair permed and beg and plead that i not make it too kinky. i am often hard pressed to behave and remain professional in responding to such requests. Just once i'd love to answer back with, "Well then girlfriend, perhaps the actual problem You need to think about correcting has absolutely NOTHING to do with your HAIR.".

I feel you on the newbie thing. My question is though, how do you go about getting the little disk. How many replies does it take to get to the next level and when and how does it change?

I guess what I am trying to say is what are the increments and then what do they change to?

You will become "curious" with 25 posts, then "newbie" at 50 i think, then the good ones start, with "kinky" at 75, not sure of the next ones but you get hand cuffs then paddles.

I agree!! Vanilla is annoying but then you get to be Curious and that is ok...but then Newbie? That is just downright humiliating! LOL
