If, in some group setting, you ran across a sub with a tag around his/her neck (not necessarily collared/attached) that said "does not play well with others," would you consider that an indication to move along, or a challenge?

I don't think I've ever seen it, it was just a visual that made me giggle... and now I'm curious what it would actually do.

We'd have to ask, and depending on the answer/attitude of the answer, we'd move on or continue talking to him. Personally, we need someone who does play well with others, so ... most likely we would be moving on.

Hey, that's what my report cards in elementary school always said! Along with "needs to control emotions more appropriately." Here ends today's totally random thought.

LMBO...my owner had a t-shirt made for one of the offspring that says her name and had a flatlined smiley face with the words "Does not play well with others". At the time, it fit her perfectly, but fortunately in the past year or two she's matured a bit and can at least fake it when she needs to.

I actually have a t-shirt that says just that. I do not play well with others...what that means is: i will/can bottom, but don't expect me to go into any form of space from play. There is never going to be any sex/blood/fluid exchange involved. If that person does not Top me from the start....i will take control and either show that person what i need/want...or walk right out. I know this is blunt....perhaps this is why i do not play with others.

Ohhh yeah...by the way......happy sunday y'all!!

When I was in college, tshirts like those were very common as jokes, among them were "Doesn't play well with others" and "Runs with Scissors" and things like that.

Generally it's probably just something cute they are wearing and has no real bearing on personality.

Thought it might be good to note that there are some subs who pride themselves on being "untamed."

This confuses me. If they know they are submissive... what is there to tame? Maybe I just don't know enough about submission... I haven't been at it all that long

I'm with you, I also dislike overly bratty submissive who constantly resist and taunt the Dominant, I just want to pull them aside and let them know there are other ways to get attention. If you're doing a "forced" scene occasionally it's fun but if everything is a tooth & nails fight what's the point??

I'd more than likely ignore the person totally. I'm not normal in those regards...when someone tries for attention I don't give it.

Anyway, over the year's I've met a lot of people. Some submissives do need to be tamed. To taught to act appropriately. There is a certain level of training that happens whenever you find a new partner. Everyone in the world is so diverse there is no way you can have a relationship with one sort of person. Find another exactly the same. Some traits may be the same but they will never be an exact duplicate.
I don't think it is necessarily a person trying to act out. (well anything is possible) Just someone who hasn't been totally trained yet.

I guess I view "taming" and "training" as different things.

I think of training as that time period when you learn what cues mean, how a Master likes his coffe... specific things to that specific relationship.

I think of taming as the process of "teaching" someone to submit, as it were. Taking control of them in a broader sense, not the minutae.

Buuuuut I think that's just me...

Definately understandable.

Myself, no one has ever used the word tame when describing me. I have seen other's use it now and then through out the year's...so just giving you my take on what I've seen and heard.

I don't attempt to cull the wild submissives from the herd and break them to saddle any more. I've found that the return is not often worth the time investment. I maintain a civilized house these days and I much prefer to spend my days playing with those that are already housebroken.
