Have you ever dated someone (anyone) before? If so, then you approach them the same way. With politeness, respect, kindness and the desire to get to know them as a person. People that are into BDSM are people too and they deserve to be treated as such.

Go to a munch, get a rubber band and shoot her in the breast. That will definately get your some attention.

Aside from that I'd tend to agree with Siamesa, approach just like any other vanilla setting.
