hi i am new here and need some advice. my husband and i have been together 8 yrs and married for the last 2 yrs. i have recently discovered that he has this dark side he calls it, that he wants total control in the bed room. he wants to be my master and me his sub, we have also discussed slave. but for now, lets concentrate on sub. anyway, i need some advice as in to do's and not to do's. so please help!

I replied on the Master board. The advice is sound. Ask him not others. He knows what he likes, not us.

one of the best advice i can offer is to keep communication opened between the two of you...as someone else said, ask him what he likes, what he wants, desires. but also keep in mind what you want, desire, need. perhaps find a munch group in your area so you can perhaps learn some of the things such as if you wish to try flogging or waxing or whatever. read materials about D/s and discuss it together....and enjoy yourselves...but be safe too.

Find out what total control means to him and get a long, drawn out list of everything he wants to do or try. Make sure you're playing safe. If he wants to try some fetish like wax play YOU do the research. Make sure you know what kind of wax to use. Hopefully he will do the same. But don't wear blinders. Just because you're subbing doesn't mean you're walking into this without a clue. If you get burned by the wrong kind of wax it's your skin. Have fun but don't be stupid about it and then whine later.

My advice is to read all you can, this forum is a good start, then search the web on topics that interest you.

Then enjoy but keep it safe.

Well open lines of communications is the best way that I know of. Asking him what he enjoys etc, and go from there. Also reading what you can from various sites such as http://www.steel-door.com etc are good ways of finding info.
