How would a master who has never used a catheter learn to safely insert a catheter.I have had a request from two different slaves to put one in them but had to refuse because I didnt know how to do it safely.

I have heard that if done incorrectly that not only is it extremely painful but can cause a very serious infection so before I even concider trying to do it I would like some real advise / instuction

Dear quiet,
It's uncomfortable, and some men say it's painful, but not extremely (I've never heard of anyone needing anesthesia before a catheter.

I do think you should watch someone do it before you attempt to, because a serious urinary tract infection can have anywhere from slight discomfort to very serious consequences (taxing the kidneys, something one cannot live without).
The reason I say watch someone, is simply so you can learn to clean the site well before insertion, and stay sterile the entire time you're gloved and up until you place the catheter inside the urethra.
I won't attempt to describe step by step here, because I think you should watch and practice in front of someone before you do it..., M

JMO, I learned here=Just My Opinion...

As for where you can go, maybe someone more well connected here can tell you where you can go and offer some service/money in return for instructions/demonstration in your state... ShadeDiva, BeachMystress, Topcat, MizSuz, etc. seem to know where to point people often, so look them up (sorry folks, for the extra work... and Thanks). M

Just a note here - in many states it is illegal to insert such an object unless you have a nursing or medical certificte.

Obviously much of what we do is illegal and we do it anyway.

Thing is catheters CAN create a SERIOUS health problem.

You can puncture the bladder, urethra, introduce bacteria, you *can* do a great deal of harm if you do not kow what you are doing.

MY advice?

Be trained from a medical person. Find someone that does this for a living (not a prodomme) and have THEM show you, and tell you what to look out for and when to bring someone immediately to an ER in case something goes wrong. It can be difficult to ascertain if a trip to the ER is needed sometimes, and it is my opinion, to know what signals are a red sign to get soemone to medical aid at the first sign rather than allowing ignorance (not an insult just saying lack of knowledge and experience here) to possibly create a bigger problem than it might have been had treatment been sought immediately.

I've done it a few times, but I am certainly not an expert. This is a medical thing, and I won't give medical advice, but I'd urge you to learn this with the help of someone trained in the medical field - niurses tend to be better at it since they do that doctors don't often do that - it's a prepping and maintenence thing and that is usually what nurses do. I'd REALLY urge you to NOT blindly do this on your own.

A lot of people don't do cath play in a sterile environment, although I highly advise against it. Keeping it as sterile as possible will reduce the chance of infection and that's a big potential problem with cath play.

Find a nurse to teach you, get a cath KIT (and not just a cath), read up on some techniques for maintaining sterile fields (did you know that technically if you wave your arm above your field, say for example if you are reaching for something, you have broken the field?) There are a LOT of dominant women that are nurses (you'd be surprised, really), familiarize yourself fully with the female and male urinary tract anatomy & physiology.

I can't really add anything substantive here. Everyone else has said it already, this is not play that is safely done by 'learning as you go along.'

And if you DO decide to go forward - make sure the end that's outside the body is in a collection device (bag, bowl, whatever) BEFORE you enter the bladder or you're gonna get WET.

Thanks everybody and expecially you ShadeDiva and MizSuz thats a big help and I plan to look for a nurse to teach me to do it properly.I am glad that I turned down the two slaves that had asked me.I wouldnt want to have done any serious harm to them(a little bit of a Sadist I am but I do care)by doing it improperly.

I was quite serious, though. There are a lot of nurses in female domination, and some of us who did all or some of the schooling and just didn't care much for 'patient contact.'

Yeah I know, but I did say the qualification should be medical training, and that pro-dominating alone wasn't the remotely the same thing as being trained as medical personnel of the nursing/doctor type (not as a receptionist, etc LOL).

Obviously if the pro-dominant has had medical training then the qualification for medically trained has been met.

So by that - it would still apply.

I know a few pros that wopuld assume that because they do it all the time, they have the ability to teach it.

It's my opinion that isn't automatically true, they could just be very lucky. Just because one does it all the time doesn't mean they should be teaching others how to do it, IMO.

As someone who inserts cathaters on a daily basis into hospital patients, it's all about inserting it in while it's steril. Unless you're allergic, you also use iodine on the genitals before insertion. Not to mention, the foley kit also comes with steril gloves. Be sure to use the lube to. To help prevent infection further, you can try buying a special type of foley kit that's coated with zink oxide and such. Either way, depending on how long you want the foley to stay in, you must always replace the foley from time to time. And no matter how much you try to resterilize a catheter, I'd never reinsert a used one. It's like reusing a comdom

You just don't do it.

That's all I can offer for now.

Are you suggesting that based on this note of yours, he should feel safe to go and do it?
I hope Quiettopman goes with Suz/ShadeDiva's and my advice of going watching and doing a return demonstration before he tries this on the people who entrust him with their bodies/lives.
I agree, placing a foley is not a huge deal once you've done it a few times... but here is the problem, if you don't know how to clean well, and maintain sterile tecnique, a urinary tract infection can tax the kidneys for one, can tranfer to the blood and cause "sepsis", and the person can die from that... So, please, go get training. Defintely, Don't ever re-insert a used catheter. M

i've watched many caths done that doesn't make me trained to do it. Because it doesn't fall into my job requirments (i deal with nothing that comes from below the diaphram lol) and is not something i'd personally want to do in my kink life, i've not asked the questions that would need to be answered before i'd consider myself safe in doing it.

i do know what You meant but didn't want anyone thinking that just because they may see it done once makes them safe to do it.

i agree with those that recomend learning from someone with medical training. NOT just watching but haing questions asked and have that person watch you do it at LEAST once.
