Status: offline 		Ok, I realize this forum is for the more general discussion of BDSM topics, but I don't see any place to put discussion/questions about personal ads and/or this site, so I'm shoving this here.

Whyfor are there so few (well, none, as far as my searches go) profiles on CollarMe that have interests outside of how they like to tie/betied up? I could understand the lack of descriptions if this was a place exclusively for hooking up for one night stands or whatnot, but I get the impression that some are looking for more than that.

How is anyone supposed to find someone into pottery or skydiving or ancient chinese mythology if everyone just talks about how they like being spanked and used?

Angel cannot speak for others, but she does place what she feels is important in her life 'out there'(as so to speak)... so possibly the kink they place is the most important thing within there lives(and it is a starting point at least)... it is possible that some people also prefere to find out likes and dislikes on a more personal level and find such a short description as slightly restricting... I know I do.

The reason is simple. Because collarme is a BDSM website. A BDSM personal's website. Therefore, people who are into BDSM come here to find a mate.

Of course people have other interests. I think it is easier to find someone into pottery than finding someone into BDSM.
Just my opinion of course.

Right, but isn't it a bit inane to go to a BDSM personals website and say "I like BDSM!"? Well of course you like BDSM. If you didn't, you most likely wouldn't be here.

Ah, but I DO see people listing an interest in BDSM on sites like Lavalife, OKCupid, Nerve, and others.

As for everyone else, they have the same option as you. I guess they'll put whatever it is they want on that side.

Aaaah, but I don't like ALL aspects of BDSM.

If it's that important to you put it on your profile. Example; "I am looking for someone that has close to the same "vanilla" interests as well as lifestyle interests as I".

Status: offline 		heehee, anyone who has read my profile knows that I hardly mention BDSM. I think that most of the people that don't really have anything up about BDSM have already found someone and it is not needed, but that's just my humble opinion.

That's my point. That space is most often used exclusively for further BDSM related descriptions, with no exploration of outside interests. I see profile after profile of people saying "I want to be loved for more than sex", but no one actually saying "I like _____" beyond BDSM topics.

like to do? Or is it a need?

hmmm sum interesting tidbits about ME.
One Saturday a month I have My home
filled with kids whom come to Me from
My community to Braid or plat their hair
in the latest fashions who cannot afford
to go to the beauty shop for free and We
all sit outside in My front yard and do hair
while playing My music loud as We do back
home.

When I choose to go to the movies I always
make a day of it and go watch three or four
at a time and usually end the day with the night
out at the card tables or bingo.

I Own several Business that are not Lifestyle
related alltho run by Lifestylers. I also have
sum Lifestyle businesses that are run by Non
Lifestylers.

Im a artist and carve wood and a writer published for fun.

I grow most of the basic foods I eat.
fish regularly and love earth in general.
Im also a avid hunter in season and eat
any thing I catch or kill.

Where I have lived has always been with in two blocks of
water and I swim every day of My life that I am not sick
because I do live a rather sedidary life now {that is when
hurricanes do not distroy all of My homes. LOL}

I am a member of Our Local Little Theatre and at times go and
act in a play when Im in the mood. Usually Musicals because I like to sing.

I invest in tax deeds and aquire old Houses
which I fix up and resell. This also for fun and
a part time project that I use to train the local
kids in gaining construction skills whom are not
the best in school skills.

Ive been a wife for over 27 and 16 years
at the same time, now Widowed twice.
Ive been a Mother to 8 now grown successfull children.

Of course this is not the total list but sum of the things that are a part of My life.

All these things would be concidered non kink related HOWEVER because I am a 24/7
practicing Lifestyler I concider ALL of these things I do related to My Lifestyle
because I am a Lifestyler and apply My beliefs across the board the same way concerning everything I do.
