1. What is the proper title to be used in addressing Merc? ($2,000 question here). When beth came to wake me with my coffee this morning she told me about this. As a result I am on the computer earlier then usual for a Sunday. Going back to a recent post about titles replied to as "Just Merc", I was concerned that confusion could reign. Since $2,000 was involved, I thought that I had to deal with this quickly. It's now 2005. Without a proper billboard who will proclaim your glory. I had already succumbed, my car has vanity plates. (Interestingly - they are my name, guess I'm still not quite 'cured'. ) I don't want to be left behind in the lifestyle any longer. I've come to realize that having a title is essential. "Emperor Merc" may have been an attempt at mirth, but now I realize it was my deeper self screaming for attention. The problem is, I always found titles before names to be juvenile. But my 'muse' again must have found the strength to enter my conscience when I posted as "Just Merc". Because this morning, when beth woke me with this, an idea immerged as the solution meeting ALL the dichotomies of Me. I've decided my title to be in the spirit of other 'outside the box thinkers; Eric The Red, Ivan The Terrible, James the Lesser, Genghis the Kahn, Winnie the Pooh, Kermit the Frog, and James the Kirk. The "Official Title" for addressing Merc........ MERC The JUST Just wanted you all to know I thought this out for some time. I even considered the 'of' mode for a bit, you know; Kennedy's of Hyannis, Purveyor of Faith, Wizard of Oz, Duke of Earl, Isle of Man (Gay-I think I would have picked this), Sultan of Swat, Bay of Pigs, Queen of England, Jesus of Nazareth (Was there a 'Jesus of Palestine' who got his mail?)
