I am training to be a fully owned slave 24/7 and hopefully collared sometime soon next year, but I´m always reading about 24/7 slaves who live with their doms. I wont be living with my Mistress, I wont even be that close to her, it takes me almost an hour to get to her house and we probably wont meet more than twice a week. But as I am now, I´m alway on duty sort of and am already willing to serve my Mistress whenever she asks.
So my question is: is 24/7 a positional or a mental thing, or a bit of both?

These days it is what you want it to be. There are those who feel they are 24/7 as long as their dominant is the thing at the top of their minds. Others see it as a synonym for "live-in."

My feeling is that the label means nothing; what is important is that you are happy in the relationship.

I think it is both but I think it is primarily a mental/emotional relationship recognization issue.

Say that three times fast.....

Meaning that unless your owner is independantly wealthy but never has to work, you cannot be physically together 24/7. You'll be apart. The thing then that makes it 24/7 is how you look at each other and how you feel about each other.

Lots of folks add in a symbol or rituals or terms to help that along. We do this.

But Fox is at his work right now, even if I needed him, he doesn't have a phone at his work, I couldn't contact him. He is still my slave there are just real life limits as to when I can literally use him.

Agreed. I do feel that it is much harder for the 24/7 slave mindset if you are not under the same roof. For instance, if you are lving in another state, or even across town, but you only see each at specified times. It is not hard for Me to know I am Dominant, but it is hard for the slave to maintain that mindset when the he is on his own for a week, or even longer, at a time. It is too easy to just not be available or have things come up. Sort of why many long distance relationships, whether alternative lifestyle or vanilla, don't work out in the end.
But if it is okay with both parties, and the upfront rules are understood, then have at it. What 24/7 means to Me, may not be what you and your Lady are seeking at all.

Well it´s not really a problem for me, it seems to come quite naturally, and my Mistress has noticed that. She fondly expressed her opinion some weeks back that there´s probably just a handful of subs around that are as devoted and easy to dominate as I am. (We do live in a small country though

)
What she also meant by this that when she has had other subs (pro or just for fun) there´s always a degree of constant mental control she has to have over the sub. She has to be in dominating mode every minute and constantly having her presence known to the sub.
With me it´s a lot easier, less of a push, but all the same her power over me is the same.

I must mention that our relationship is not of any physical love, she´s a switch and has a loving boyfriend who lives in another country, and he is her Dom.
I´m a simple houseslave for now but if I finish my difficult training I might become her collared slave, a pet who she owns. :)
And I don´t love her in that way either, whe´re friends who respect each other tremendously,, , well maybe there´s a little bit of platonic love,, mostly admiration care and respect,, like for a parent or a teacher...

If the relationship is satisfying to the both of you, that is what is most important. 24/7 seems to mean something slightly different to each individual. Don't worry about how others look at your relationship as long as you are happy.

The Three Stooges Marathon is on, and you and Her are watching the Oprah After the Show on Oxygen.

You gave up front row tickets at the tractor pull so You could take her antiquing.
