They seem to be used interchangeably, which creates doubled threads. For example, this week alone, there was a thread about Canada day and reaching another level on status in each.

Couldn't we merge them? Perhaps there is a use for both, and if so, can someone point it out to me?

This section offers a casual place for general conversation and the making of friends (or so we hope ). If you have a more serious topic you want to discuss, please use the discussion forums provided. Otherwise, if you just want to say hello to everyone, introduce yourself, joke around, or whatever... pull up a chair and join in.

As with the rest of the Forum, it is asked that participants refrain from insults, flames, and generally offensive behavior.

We hope you enjoy The Lounge and the company of those frequenting it.

Off Topic
As the description for this section states, this is a forum for the open discussion of any and all topics of interest. Its fine to debate politics and religion here... and just about anything else you want to bring up.

Keep the discussions civil and mature.

Looks to me the only difference is religion and politics are in off topic while everything goes in both aside from those two?

Yeah, I read both descriptions before starting my thread. I don't see much of a difference still.

Well I wanted the lounge to be more of a casual chit chat area for more lighthearted BDSM topics that shouldnt go in general. More of a casual area where people can socialize.
While off topic was meant for more serious discussions about anything that has nothing to do with BDSM issues. Relicion, politics, cooking whatever other topics you wanted.
The problem came about when you try and maintain it, and moving and pulling posts all day. At some point I would love to clean them out or merge them but just dont have the time.

Thanks for the answer ModOne. Of course, if any of us can help, you know many of us are willing.

Seems to me that these groups are only distinguished by the original poster's perception that the post is a bit less than random stupidity. For example, I started a thread about the Tour de France, and the stupidity in my post is not random at all -- it is completely planned out!

You actually plan your stupidity? That is the most brilliant thing I've read all night.
