A man had just bought a new Mercedes, was on the highway with it and decided to open it up and see what it would do. He gradually increased his speed to the point where he was doing 85 mph... and then saw the flashing red lights behind him. Instead of pulling over, he decided to try and out run the cop, who matched his speed up to 135. The man decided he didn't want to try and drive any faster, so he pulled over, and when the cop got there, the officer said "ok, buddy... my shift is almost over, and I'd rather not have to do the paperwork it's gonna take to arrest you. If you can give me an original excuse that I've never heard before, I'll let you off with just a warning.

The man in the Mercedes said "well, officer, last month my wife ran off with a policeman, and i was afraid you were trying to return her." Without saying a word, the officer turned, got back in his car and drove away.
