Status: offline 		So I've got a question for you all, of the "does anyone else like this?" variety.

I've recently been playing with a new person, and we have a very switchy energy. I usually can't switch midscene, but with her it turns out to happen fairly easily and frequently. This, in and of itself, is just background. The fun bit is that we occasionally end up with the roles not quite reversed, but just 'twisted' Much like genderfucks (if you'll excuse the term) play with the weird combinations of gender, we play with weird role variations.

For a concrete example: slapping her face while I have cuffs on. Cuffs: usually make me subby. Slapping her face: usually makes me toppy. The combination: strangely appealing. It's not that the cuffs become a toppy thing, or that I feel subby, it's just... fun. It's different than the energy going back and forth (which is also fun), it's a fairly static and sustainable mindset that is some blend of toppy and subby that actually works.

So anyone else played with this kind of energy?

Status: offline 		If I understand what you are asking, you are looking for people that mix things up within a single scene. We do this quite often (pretty much all the time actually). He is a top with an almost uncontrollable foot fetish, he just loves them. We can be doing anything and I just flex my foot and the whole dynamic changes. It's intersting and fun and keeps me on my toes.

Status: offline 		I do it to get him more focussed on me and challenge him so he gets even more involved and everything becomes more personal, and that makes me feel closer to him. In the end I want him to demand all the control back, but I like challenging him - it perks the agression in him more and gets me closer to where I want to be as a sub.

I've been considering I may be a switch in my head lately. I too have these domanant urges that bubble to the surface with certain individuals.
When I'm with My Master I surpress them as they lead to some intense activity reciprocated back. I fully know he's the top and will respect only he will be in that position with our relationship. That's why he's My Master.

I've noticed when I'm with less strong or not in charge dominant men I tend to occasionally catch myself topping from the bottom. I do things like pinch their nipples hard & things like that. I also have a friend who just likes his sub's to fight back.

I think the power exchange due to someones personailty can make each scene very different from the other.
If switching back and forth turns both of you on, go for it. If it offends your partner or they don't like it then don't. I don't think we all have to get there the same way.

Status: offline 		When a relationship becomes intense and very personal, I think it's probably possible to exhibit the tendencies of the opposite role occassionally, or perhaps regularly. If you are a Dom, you should be intensely studying your sub's behavior and reactions, and likewise if you are a sub you should be keenly aware of your Dom's behaviors and reactions. Human nature will make you (I think, anyways), adapt some of the behaviors that you like your partner to exhibit.

To me, sounds like good, clean fun!!

For me I have nevver flipped roles with a partner in scene or between scenes. It's usually a womans achievement as a Domme or sub that turns me on to them. Wouldn't want them to change.

I have dated/played with switches, but always in set roles also. Come to think of it I was top with all of them.

Status: offline 		The man that I am with is also a switch so sometimes that makes things interesting. We have never switched roles nor twisted roles within any particular scene but we have switched roles between scenes within one day where the first time I was the dom and the second time later on that day he was the dom.

It is a very interesting concept and one never gets bored with such variety.

It will be interesting to say the least. I just hope I don't act like some caricature uber-domly type (or worse, forget I'm supposed to be dom!) d.

While I think it's perfectly normal to interact that way, and am glad it works well for you, I'm one of those for whom roles within a relationship need to be specific. I cannot switch roles within relationships. My switching is in the form of being His slave, but being dominant in all other interpersonal relationships.

My BF had me in wrist restraints and turned his back getting some toys out, I slipped out of the restraints, picked up a knife off the end table, slipped up behind him and slid it between his legs, pressing it against the nutbrothers. I told him what a naughty "daddy" he was being tying his babygirl up and torturing her like that and now it was his turn to see what it was like. LMAO totally unexpected as he'd never switched in midscene before but he LOVED it. Sometimes its the unexpected happenings in a scene that can make them the most intense and unforgetable.

Status: offline 		Ive only recently been involved with someone that I feel comfortable switching mid scene. It can be an issue when I am looking for a sub space scene, but he has learned to put me in my place. But, unless it is a specifically defined scene (im topping and you are bottoming) we tend to play back and forth.

Status: offline 		I can switch midscene frequently esepcially with my skunk. We switch so randomly and such, and yes, often there are elements of his bottoming, while he tops and vice versa.
Such as me wearing his cuffs and collar, meanwhile I'm controlling the dynamic.....yummy.... and often doing things to him. And vice versa, if he wants me in a masochistic mood, all he has to do is threaten with a flogging, and the Dom leaves temporarily. But in the end, it is usually me who makes the decisions, what to do, when to do it, inside and outside of play. Kindof wish the sadist had more of an outlet, but that it does not, at least not yet.

Status: offline 		I haven't taken any of the labels seriously since the Dom I was test driving suddenly stopped and asked me to Dom him. I did, but never let him Dom me again.

Don't let labels get in your way.
