I prefer board gaming style games like Catan and Munchkin. But I have on occasion done an RPG. My Firefly group is getting together a Serenity RPG.

At East Carolina University, I used to host an AD&D group made up exclusively of other faculty members.

I've also written a number of articles under my own name for the Dragon Magazine.

miti does not play D&D, but has always been interested...you will likely find many gamers here...D&D, WoW among others.

but miti seriously has enough trouble with Neopets *rolls eyes*

The vermine is a small black and white relative of the lemming, found in the cold Hublandish regions. Its skin is rare and highly valued, especially by the vermine itself; the selfish little bastard will do anything rather than let go of it.

I didn't know there was a Serenity RPG. I will have to check that out. My gaming group likes to try new things.

Thats cool. I have played Advanced Dungeons & Dragons since before the original players handbook was out ( I started young). I haven't read a Dragon magazine in years but I collected those for years when it first came out.

*winks*....indeed

It is a fact that although the Death of the Discworld is, in his own words, an ANTHROPOMORPHIC PERSONIFICATION, he long ago gave up using the traditional skeletal horses, because of the bother of having to stop all the time to wire bits back on.

Everquest JUNKIE.......ohhhhhhhhhhh yea............6 years running now..............though that is more MMORPG than just RPG

some other good ones are America's Army, World of Warcraft...and there is a new one coming out that just may turn me from EQ...have to wait and see how the beta goes on it.

For about a year now, my friends and I have been in a Mage: Sorcers' Crusade campaign. My roommate addicted me to the V:tES CCG, as well as White Wolf/World of Darkness/d10 gaming. D&D is good for dungeon crawling. I also like RISK. My family grew up playing Canasta and Euchre for normal card games...

Yes, I am a gamer...

I'm a gaming geek. I haven't played D&D in a while. I just pulled out of LARPing Vampire:The Requiem. I play Munchkin (oh, what a wonderful game), WOW (had to quit. It ate my life), Strange Synergy, Kobolds Ate My Baby (the original beer and pretzels role-playing game), and yes, I still play Magic: The Gathering. Gotta love it.

Now that you've given me gaming ideas, I think I'll get an oldschool Shadow Run game going.

White Wolf has put out some good gaming supplements to read but I have found the combat system in The Vampire game to be unworkable. Or at least for me way to slow.

If you have them from the late 70s and early 80s, look for "Dungeonmaster's Familiar" and "Druid as a Healer." There was one more but I can't recall it.

Me and the pet play White Wolf LARPS, and she plays a few table top games.

So, yes, there are those here that play.

I have played D&D/AD&D since the laye 70s, and Yes John, I recall reading both those articles. I only recently got rid of my collection of Dragon Magazines.
I still play about 1/month with a couple of old die-hards and my sub (she loves the game as well...hmmmm, maybe that's why she really puts up with me...youthink?).
I used to be an avid collector, but gave up when 3rd edition came out...I had simply invested far to much already to start all over again...and the thought of converting everything i did in the past to a new system was simply to daunting.

I used to play a lot of RPG's, but not on the computer more on systems
like x-box and the cube, those type of game systems.

And yes I hear you NOMC, those games can eat time and your life quick!

It's nice to be remembered.

I got forced out about the same way. After all it was just a GAME and they kept making it more and more complex. I had other things I needed my wetware storing.
