I've seen many posts where Dominants complain how (male) subs don't include enough info in their profile. Well, tonight I actually received a message where the Dominant stated "it took me 30 minutes to read your likes and dislikes." I find the humor ironic.

Anyway, I'm wondering about the new "Interests" list. Doesn't it seem out of place to be mixing things like "Flea Markets" with "Enemas" in a profile? I'm thinking on trimming mine down until the Collarme folks find a way to divide the vanilla from the non-vanilla.

I would think that an enema at a flea market is vanilla. YMMV. seems to me nobody could give a shit. I am opposed to the whole vanilla:non-vanilla debate. ain't no such thing as kinky or vanilla, really.

Glad someone can read is all I can say, I like readers.

Nope. I'd have to say my love for Firefly is just about as deep as my love for electric play.

This is MY LIFE. I'm not all chains and corsets. I'm not all ice cream and movies. I'm a full person.

Whether people want to use the interests functions or not is up to them. I'm sure we'll be getting complaints about what people think people should do with them and what they don't do with them and how badly they make things work for a long time now.

But I don't think it's weird at all. I live my life with ALL of those things in them, why shouldn't they all be together?

I did trim mine down a bit and I think the resulting picture is more distinct. But I actually do like the way everything is all mixed together. I mean, that's how I am...all mixed together.

I am not looking for anyone. I'm pretty pleased with who I am with.
So I haven't even checked out the "Lists", I'm thinking that maybe
that might be a good thing??

I love my captain. Zoe is SO not my type.

Main thing that bugs me about the interest list is that selecting average shows the same as not selecting anything in the experience field.

Absolutely not. I think the improvements collarme has made, while not perfect, are one thousand percent better than what they had before.

Let me give you a prime example of what I'm talking about : Lets say a Lady's profile pops up when I sign on. Ok... based on the picture and the words in her actual profile, I think she's ''hella'' physically attractive, has good moves and is mentally sharp. But now I take a good look at her interests and find that she absolutely despises both athletics and politics, be it watching them or actual participation. Now.. If these pertinent facts were by chance omitted in the wording of her actual description, I'd have to wade through exchanging multiple messages to come to the stark realization that long term compatibility probably isn't likely. So, in effect, Collarme has just provided me with a tool that makes being able to access compatibility more accurate and alot faster.

It's too much information. What happened to having conversations and getting to know the other person?

Yeah, that's kind of how I feel.

Efficiency in searching for a partner is highly over-rated.

Part of the fun of meeting people is discovering what they're interested in and all of that, and being open yourself to new things, and letting people discover on their own what you're passionate about.

I'm not so sure that making it any quicker or easier to weed out potential partners is a Good Thing. I learn just as much from people I'm not compatible with as I do from those where we "click" right away. Of course, I just turned 40, so maybe I should re-think that

The thing is- NOTHING has happened to them.

The people who know this will keep doing it and appreciate the added information that an interests lists can provide.

The people who don't know this will keep bitching about it and how they don't get emails because of what it looks like or that they DO get emails because of it, etc etc, trying to take the short cuts and quick ways and not having it work.

It's just another tool in the toolbox. Use it or not.

I had a grand time with the checklists---though I did go and do a big edit once I saw how they were showing up on profiles.

Nothing takes the place of conversation and getting to know each other----but how much easier is it to start a conversation with someone if you already know that they love flea markets, Queen Anne architecture, and swimming?

The conversations and getting to know the other person are still the likely option, but having a tool that increases your chances of better accessing long term compatibility is invaluable.

i would wager no more than half the Men who email me have read my profile, so it's length doesn't seem to matter. And BTW, i would wonder about someone who needed 30 minutes to read anthro's profile; may need a course at Evelyn Woods, LOL.
