As a writer of fiction, I of course steal things from reality to weave my little stories into exciting reads (or at least that's the goal). I had an interesting idea for a story recently that involves something that is also helpful, in case you come up missing in action - which I hope never happens. If you use Yahoo! Messenger, there is an archive feature. I think ICQ also has this. It keeps a log of all of your messages, pms, etc. Not only is it fun to go back and re-read, but if it is accessed, you can find all sorts of information. This is especially true about setting up meetings, times, places, etc. If you do it through that medium, you have a record. I don't know how many police officers know about this feature, and granted you have to know the password to get in it. However, if you have a person you can trust with your password who would notice if you went missing, there is a clear description of who you talked with, about when, and whom. I have a son over 20 years of age, and he knows how to access this in an emergency. He is aware enough of his Mom's kink to know what to do if something goes wrong. God help the person who hurts me if he finds him...grins. Hey, it's not bad for proving what someone said, either. Thumbnail Image
