Did Y/you know software exists to help a person write a love letter? Isn't that a bit sterile?

Define 'love letter' petal. If I am writting to someone I am involved with the tone can range from giving simple info to 'romantic' to flirty all in the space of one mail, but I don't think of them as 'love letters'

Ah dp I think you were born in the wrong century and on the wrong continent.
You are much more geared to the doings of Victorian England, don't you agree?
Much more romance and gentlemanly protocol back then.

Define 'love letter' petal.

Noun~ love letter - a personal letter to a loved one expressing affection

Meaning if MH were to take Her love letters and put them in a personal letter, Her boy would have love letters in a love letter (?) i think.

And then there is always the lingering question of "what's love?"...only the two sharing it can define it in their own terms relative to their own situation.

When I was in high school and my first year of college I had a pen pal in Czechoslovakia. This was in the 60's when it was under communist control. Suddenly he started wrtiting me really sweet love letters with no explanation, but I did enjoy them. It turns out all of his mail was censored and he thought that if he had a serious girlfriend in America that he had a better chance of getting out of Czechoslovakia. I guess it worked because he ended up getting a student visa and went to college over here, then became a U.S. citizen. Actually my parents had to sponsor him but it all worked out perfectly for him.

Ah but does that mean ANY missive in which I express affection for a partner is a 'love letter', if it is then I've written grocery lists that would count!

What I was getting at is that most modern communication between partners is likely to have a range of subjects and tone within it, some overtly affectionate some not. So whilst I have often been affectionate in a letter, I don't consider ANY of them to have been love letters.

What I consider a 'love letter' is entirely focused on affection. I believe John Dunn's 'on his mistress upon going to bed' was penned as just such a letter.

Think of them as odes....written to you and for you.

oooo, the first time I was in love I went off to join the USAF.

The letters we used to write. *sigh*

I think love letters are a lost art, as people seem to like to send PMs and e-mails and what not these days. While STILL romantic and thoughtful, they are just not a replacement for putting pen to paper.

When you get a love letter, not only are the words meaningful and wonderful to hear, but your love has picked them out. Too, your love has picked out the paper, the envolope, mabye even thought about the stamp. While we're on that line of thinking ...

Your love has touched that paper, formed those words with her own handwriting, licked that envolpe ... and ... if like the old days ... SWAKed it.

How I do miss those times ;)

And NOTHING is better than reading a love letter from someone who you will be seeing tomorrow.

And nothing is better than writing a love letter, and know that she will think of you when she reads it. Perhaps she will melt just a little.

Now, I have found that the path to a woman's heart is stoney indeed, and I never could find no purchase in it, but if there be a seed that can grasp the barest crack in her busom of granite, surely it is words carefully chosen, carefully written ... and throwing caution, as seeds to the wind, carelessly delivered ;)

It may be a bit sterile, but at least it is safe and you won't catch anything from it.

But seriously... Love letters come from the heart of a person. They express, in words, how one feels toward another. As someone who has written love letters I will tell you that they are quite easy to write if you are truly in love. I do not profess to be a poet or an extraordinary writer, but I can get my point across when it comes to love.

It doesn't have to be anything fancy sounding or overtly mushy... it just needs to be sincere. One says more sometimes when one uses less words to say it. The more you think about doing it the less it will flow from the heart. Say what is there, it is the purist form of expression that there is. Eloquence has nothing to do with meaning and how it will impact another person. If you pour out your love to someone, it will show and there will be no question that the reader will understand what you mean.

I think I will go be depressed now because I really wish I had someone to write those types of letters to.

The first lesson is to write about what you know, make it real.
I have a stash of poems that were written to me many years ago.

Well, some computers are warmer than certain guys and girls.

I would say my grocery list could be applicable. I tend to love, crave and need Oreo cookies at a certain time each month. I am very passionate when i add them to my list. It's been like that for years so i consider it an on going thing.

I am wondering how this software works. Is it similiar to a language translator?

Type in: I think your hot and i can't wait to do you.

Translation: You tantalize my eyes with your beauty and i dream of the time I can hold you in my arms.

Or is it a fill in the blank:

Dearest (insert name) ,

Today I (insert action verb) to the mailbox to see if your letter had arrived. Sadly my (insert adjective) heart was crushed by its emptiness....
